Who is the greatest pundit for your side?
Today I read Ann Coulter's most recent book, and I was completely disappointed. It's the first thing of hers I have read, and, frankly, I expected so much more from the woman who is commonly referred to as the leading conservative pundit in America.
This prompted my wondering how conservatives feel about Coulter, and from there I reached the more general question of who people think is the best pundit for "their side" in politics.
Personally I think John Stewart and the chaps at the Daily Show are the best voices for "my side," since they are willing to snipe at everybody who is stupid rather than just picking a station on one side of the partisan fence.
So who is the best for your side? Is Rush really that great? Is Coulter? Is Moore? or is there a lesser-known mind who you think takes the title?

She is somewhat delusional. She thinks that in 2-3 weeks of looking around, she can answer questions that historians have been arguing for a long time.

Well, as I live an breathe, I never thought I'd hear anyone say they expected anything from Coulter. Coulter's problem is that she believes her own PR, just like Moore and Franken.
I hadn't actually considered The Daily Show as "pundits" before, but they do indeed have a nice "anyone is fair game" attitude. Plus, I'm beginning to think that Stephen Colbert is a comic genius.
Truth be told, there aren't any really extrordinary pundits out there, that have a vision, know how to encapsulate it and share it with others. That, in and of itself, is the problem with US politics right now. There are no leaders, just winners and losers.
I guess I'd have to go with Molly Ivans just because I don't think I've ever read anything of hers that I didn't enjoy. Admittedly, that's terribly biased, but when the pickings are so slim, you have to work with what you've got, I suppose.
Anarchism needs no pundits. That's one of its best features.

i don't think any political party or group needs pundits, so i don't see why anarchism considers that something to boast about. pundits are gravy, baby.

Best pundit for anarchism = Hurricane-causing butterfly.

i must admit i did get a good laugh from the part of her book where she claims "McCarthyism doesn't exist" and even the term "McCarthyism" is a made-up liberal word. perhaps somebody should break it to her (gently of course) that the liberal made-up word was the title of McCarthy's own book.

lol, the pundits of all the other systems, to me at least, seem to also be the greatest pundits of anarchy.

Yeah, but they're not always very thick gravy. Usually, they're more of a sauce or perhaps a pesto.

Molly Ivans is the cats meow. Intelligent, hilarious ...and she's willing to call a steaming pile of equine fecal material "horse shit" when she sees it. No matter whose dump it is. :p

Rush certainly has enough talent to be on the airways, but I don't like him. Truth is, I don't like any pundits, as they engage in mudslinging and fact distortion.
However, my favorite pundit, or at least that's what everyone calls him except me, is Bill O'Reiley. He knows what he's talking about, and while he is slanted to the right, it doesn't get in the way of his journalism. Besides, he has great guests on every night, from both sides of the spectrum. In fact, he had Michael Moore on a few nights ago.

I saw her once on O'Reillys show(channel surfing). He had her about ready to start pulling hair when she went into her version of history about joe.
He just kept repeating "I'm not buying that."
She actually stopped talking at one point.
One of the few times Bill was actually interesting.
