Where In The World Do You Live? What Country?

With only 10 poll options, I have picked out specific English speaking countries and divided up the rest of the world into a few huge regions, sorry.

The Emperor of Layarteb hails from Mount Vernon, New York, just on the northern border with the Bronx. But, I am originally from Elmont, New York just east of Queens. When I moved up here for school I went from one NYC border to the other. Any further than that and it's a whole 'nother world!

I know that French fries (or Freedom fries???) - Pommes frites - are originally from Belgium.

However the rest I do not specially associate with Belgium. Your evil eastern neighbour is drinking more beer per capita. However I´ve read that actually the Czech are the biggest beer drinkers per capita. Well they have Budweiser. However the number may be due to high number of tourists in Prague.

I originally had a list of 24 because another forum I frequent allows that many poll options. I kept pairing things up until I got only 10.

That's right. But relatively we have the most breweries in the world. And many Belgian beers have been elected to be the best in the world: Delirium Tremens for example. Very good beer. The worlds largest brewer (or at least top 3) - Interbrew - is Belgian.

Sprouts are called Brussels' sprouts in the US, waffles are called Belgian waffles in the US, fries are called French fries in the US... dunno why, maybe it sounds exotic to them?

Ah, the pink elephant! Yes, thats a pretty good one. Although i'm more a friend of Leffe Brune or the various Westmalle beers, to bad i dont get enough around here or only at outrageous prices.
I have family living near Leuven and the new Stella/Interbrew buildings are indeed massive. They dominate a lot of the city center and thats just part of it, considering the shares they hold throughout the world. But if my info is correct they are still no. 3 after Anheuser-Busch and TsingTao. Ok, that makes them the largest beer producer... ;)
