I think Fox News is biased when it comes to their hosts.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it bares posting here.

Fox News has a rather staggering amount of bias. Don't believe me? Check out this movie (http://mfile.akamai.com/11671/mov/cdn.moveon.org/media/2000-07-19_cameron_bush_pre_interview.mov) of a pre-interview with the president. I nean, the interviewers wife is off campaigning with Bush's! Gah! The damn interviewer is best buddies with the President. Everyone knows FOX is uber conservative. They don't even try to have unbiased interviews or interviewers. Bleh.

sure they are but they do show more of a balanced picture than the rest do. just ask any soldier comming back from iraq what is really going on there and compare that to what you see on the news.

I actually like Fox news, they aren't afraid to put forward what they believe, especially O'Reilly.

As Enerica stated, all news sources are biased... Most are owned by different levels of government, or politically prominent people... This doesn't mean that these news agencies will purposefully mis-lead, but that their views may differ with another source possibly (stress possibly) making the news they are reading possible flawed to some degree...

It is impossible not to be baised in some way. Fox is more right, others are more left. Who can judge which one is more baised. Whether you are right or left, the oppisite will always seem baised to you.

FOX goes way beyond "slant" or "spin" They release unfounded inflamatory stories. Like this one:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,125464,00.html

This is based on some information pulled from an unspecified website, we all know the extent of the garbage that circulates on the net. It the equivalent of findinga website that say that anti-abortionists should kill doctors, and then saying that the DNC anti-abortion protesters want to do the same thing.

Yeah Fox news is just as biased as any other news. Only difference is which side they spew about.

FOX goes way beyond "slant" or "spin" They release unfounded inflamatory stories. Like this one:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,125464,00.html

Fox is not reporting about the website(s). It is reporting about worries caused by the reports of activity on the website(s). SO this is unfounded how? The reports do exist, the NYCPD is worried about it, and taking steps to deal with the activities in the reports. The Mayor of NYC is worried about this type of activity, and has held a press conference about it. There is no telling how troubled agencies like the Secret Service are about this since they are keeping quiet. It is a major concern about the convention and reporting about it is no worse than reporting about potential traffic problems caused by the DNC in Boston.

Which goes beyond slant or spin, to accurately report a factual event, or to ignore what is actually going on? Do you believe then that Fox should censor itself and only report and appropriate events and ignore those which might make your views look bad? Which provides a more accurate view of events, reporting about how the NYCPD is worried about anarchists at the RNC or reporting which doesn't?

***mind you this says nothing about bias, instead this falls into the category of slant. Chosing what to report and what not to report is probably the most common form of bias in newsreporting today, but it does not go beyond slant and is certainly not up to the level of spin, much less beyond it.***
