FNC just showed some news about a monkey who is apparantly brain-damaged and was walking upright like a human..., heh...time for a creationist v evolutionist argument...

was this it

The cDc tries to keep a watchful eye for any evolutionary traits in the lower species that may threaten our existance. This involves, but is not limited to, searching for opposable thumbs on dolphins and inverse scuba suits for octopi. Recently our researchers have come across this image which sends shivers down our collective spine:

Bonobo chimps frequently walk upright, using their hands to carry items like food or tools. this has been observed and photographed countless times, so i don't see why one brain-damaged monkey causes a stir.

because it was for extended periods of time longer than normal.

So a monkey started walking upright after having brain damage? Now that's something that doesn't happen everyday.

lmfao

"I would like to announce to the AMeircan public that I have just signed a bill into law that will effectively and immediately ban the evolution of all forms of life."

Dude, if dolphins got opposable thumbs, we'd be so fucked. Not kidding. THey'd kick humanity's ass so hard.

I dunno aobut the monkey's though. I mean, through some poo at them, and you're set.

It is not the first instance of upright walking.

As others have mentioned many sub-species do it for short periods of time.

The reason you don't see chimps and bonoboos doing it all the time is the way their hips are designed. It is very uncomfortable over time.

My guess is that maybe the damange numbed its pain receptors.

There was a chimp named ollie (or was it oscar) that did it all the time. He died before anybody could study him. There is flim that you can sometimes download and or watch. He had a normal stride.
