This applies to those who live in a society that actually have a classing system (Low class, Middle-Class, High Class)

Obviously...
Low-Class = short end of the stick, low income, etc etc

Middle-Class = decent living, living off what you make because you cant make any extra

High-Class = Capatilist King! Living the life...etc etc.

(sorry about the previous thread, forgot the poll...stupid me)

As a student, I've worked my way into the lowest possible economic level... the kind that owes everyone they know... So I would have to go with low...

No class.

*laughs* Just kidding. Actually, I'd say high class, except for the fact that if you're a first-generation family, unless you become fantastically wealthy (we're talking at least 100 000 per year per family member in a bedroom community), you're still going to end up middle class.

No, not first-generation immigrants. First generation as in you are supporting yourself without inheriting stuff like houses and furniture and books and cars and the like from others.

I consider myself upper middle class, but then again, my mom (the family breadwinner) makes a lot, and saves a lot. So we have oodles of money to spend. But I don't consider myself high class. I've seen the high life, and it's nothing even I could afford: a couple new Mercedes in a heated garage, a few marble bathrooms, plasma screen TVs, and of course, the old millionaire nutcase that makes the house look like a cross between a Tuscan villa and a gingerbread house. That, my friend, is the highlife.

Middle Class.

But being in the Bay Area I think it's lower middle class as to the rest of the country.

I think it would help if someone would define more straight forward paramaters for the classes.

One classic manner for measuring classes is by income.

I have HEARD some prominent people call middle class an income of $28,000+/year here in the united states (and that MAY be for a family). Not sure though.

That's not a very good measuring stick for middle class. Just my two cents...take it as you will.

It's regional as well. That income where I am at is barely getting by. The dump apartment/flat I was living in costed $1400 a month. The new apartments across the street started at $2200
