In the little world I've created inside of my head I'm high class...does that count?

In Porcellandia I am a high class person too... in real life, middle class. It doesn't really matter, here. :fluffle:

I'd consider myself somewhere between middle and upper middle class. If upper, than I'm just at the low fringes of it. I know this one guy that lives not far from us (in suburban uptstate New York), and he has a small movie theater in his house, complete with projector.

My family has a really low income but I'd rather see myself as middle class rather than working class as thats what our values are. We're suprising rich in material wealth for what we earn because we are very careful with our money.

class is not an social construction so it´s irelevant how you feel were you belong. Your class is baced on your economical possition in other words were your money come from and how moutsh you can affect your own work cituation. Or to make it more precise you own stocks for 10mil $ and get the majority of your money from cappital investments then your upper class. And if the majority from your income comes from an ordinary job like being an nurce whit litle to no possibility to affect your own work cituation in any way whit out organisation or laws your worker class.

i had this conv with my dad a while back.

from jobs

upperclass is aparently ceo's, presidents, people who don't have to work for a living or are on more that quarter of a mil a year, ect

middle class is managers, supervisors, proffesionals (teachers, docters ect) or people on over 60 thou a year, ect

lower class is people that have no staff 'under them', or earn less than 60 thou a year

does that make sence?

if it's from perceved station in life then:

at the time i was still tec a minor so try and work this one out.

a kids class is from family background and i was living with my grandpearents a lot at the time.

maternal grandpearents = middle, middle class (like to think upper middle or even lower upper)

paternal grandpearents = lower middle or working class

father = (manager of a company so) middle class, acts working class, likes to think he's working class

mother = (teacher) middle class (now self employed doing voluntry work so tec) working class

so what does that make me? i'm a student, have a minimal income (student loan and job) but am working to being a proffesional (at what i don't know!) with a middle class backgound)
