Prickly City Newspaper Comic

My hometown Newspaper (The Chicago Tribune) has had a number of liberal comic strips, including "Doonsberry" (sp?). They recently picked up thier first (In my lifetime) strongly consevative comic strip, "Prickly City". I'd noramally say, for the sake of preventing bias in the newspaper, that this comic strip is okay, and I'm reluctant to say that I really want it removed--but the truth is I hate the comic strip. It has taken inflamatory stance against Gay marriage, saying that Judges in Massacusetts (did I really spell that right?) have legalized beastiality, and that Micheal Moore (a personal hero) went to Prickly looking for Caucasions acting stupid. Have you ever watched C-Span? Its 98% White men with white hair. Why do you think Moore is upset? As the whitest person I know, I'd like to see some diversity on Capital Hill.

Sounds a lot like "Mallard Filmore". You know, if you do want diversity, you should be able to tolerate the right having their lone thinly comical offerings in our local papers.

I'm trying, but its just so ridiculously inflamatory. I don't listen to radio a lot (I'm an NPR and C-Span guy) so I'm unused to it.

Well, treat it like a personal challenge to yourself, to broaden your horizons of tolerance. If nothing else, try to examine WHY the comic uses such language and imagery to understand your political opposites a bit better.

I must admit, I burn inside when I read obviously inflamatory things on my hot button issuses...I can only try to turn that anger into productive introspection on my own core principles and beliefs. It does me no good to foam and rave uselessly over someone else's opinion.

I would like to think I do that. See the last few sentances of my first post. But your right.

Are the liberal comics less inflamatory? I'm sure they do their fine share of bias and insinuation as well.
Do you have examples of the comics?

Maybe, but I'm a liberal. The second week this wolf followed a little girl around trying to get her to elope to Massachusetts and get married to her becuase Judges there have legalized beastality.
