here's a little number I tossed up recently in the Carribian

isn't it awfully nice to have a penis
isn't if frightfully good to have a dong
it's swell to have a stiffy
it's divine to own a dicky
from the tiniest little todger
to the worlds biggest prick
so three cheers for your willy
or john thomas
hurray for yor one eyed trouser snake
your piece of pork
your wifes best fried
your percy or your cock
you can wrap it up in ribbons
you can slip it in your sock
but don't take it out in public
or they will put you in the dock
and you wont come back

thank you very much!

(spoken) The world today is absolutely cracked. With nuclear bombs to blow us all sky high. There's fools and idiots sitting on the trigger. It's depressing, and it's senseless, and that's why... (singing)

I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
They only come up to you knees,
Yet they're always friendly and they're ready to to please.

I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
There's nine hundred million of them in the world today,
You'd better learn to like them, that's what I say.

I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
They come from a long way overseas,
But they're cute, and they're cuddly, and they're ready to please.

I like Chinese food,
The waiters never are rude,
Think the many things they've done to impress,
There's Maoism, Taoism, I-ching and chess.

I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
I like their tiny little trees,
Their Zen, their ping-pong, their Ying and Yang-ese.

I like Chinese thought,
The wisdom that Confucius taught,
If Darwin is anything to shout about,
The Chinese will survive us all without any doubt.

So, I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
They only come up to you knees,
Yet they're wise, and they're witty, and they're ready to please

Wo ai Zhongguo ren,
Wo ai Zhongguo ren,
Wo ai Zhongguo ren,
Ni hao ma, Ni hao ma, Ni hao ma, Zai jian.

I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
They're food is guaranteed to please,
A fourteen, a seven, a nine and lychees

I like Chinese, I like Chinese,
I like their tiny little trees,
Their Zen, their ping-pong, their yin and yang-ese

I like Chinese, I like Chinese, (fade out....) .

While not actually a song, I find the the music at the end of Holy Grail is very addictive. After the credits and everything.

I've actually done that one at karaoke before--got a terrific response.

And I don't know if it truly qualifies as a Python song, but Idle's new one, "The FCC Song" is absolutely brilliant.

The Lumberjack Song is a definite classic.

I also like Every Sperm Is Sacred because our religious studies teacher played it for us to demonstrate Catholic beliefs and The Penis Song because, well, we listened to that in geology… very topical…

I've always liked "The Tale of Sir Robin", even if it is pretty short.

the tale of brave sir Robin is cool, but i like the song of Camelot, espessially the clapping guy in the dungeon :)

Sir Robin all the way!

Bravely bold Sir Robin, rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin.
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways.
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin!
He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp,
Or to have his eyes gouged out, and his elbows broken.
To have his kneecaps split, and his body burned away,
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin!
His head smashed in and his heart cut out,
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged,
And his nostrils raped and his bottom burned off,
And his pen--

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
No!
Bravely ran away away.
I didn't!
When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
No!
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
I didn't!
And gallantly he chickened out, bravely taking to his feet.
I never did!
He beat a very brave retreat.
All lies!
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.
I never!

Anyone know Accountancy Shanty? It's pretty good and belongs to the opening of The Meaning of Life.

Furthermore I like Never Be Rude To An Arab and I'll Bet You They Won't Play This Song On Radio. It's a bit like the FCC song :)

Nearly all Monty Python songs are excellent, but I think I would have to go for 'Every Sperm is Sacred' or the lumberjack song.

Both classics!

Yes! I was waiting for this thread - all Sunday and Monday I was listening to loads of Monty Python songs!

Lumberjack's good, Camelot and my favourite, I Like Chinese. Well, they're all good, but those especially. No-one has suggested the theme tunes for Life of Brian or Meaning of Life which is a shame, or:
All Things Dull and Ugly (Meaning of Life)
Decomposing Composers (?)
Eric the Half a Bee (?)
Christmas in Heaven (Meaning of Life)
Medical Love Song (?)
I've Got Two Legs (?)
I'm So Worried (?)

Knigths Of The Round Table is also a brilliant song - Especially if you are seeing the movie while listening to it :D

The Knights of Camelot Song

We're Knights of the Round Table.
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.
We're Knights of the Round Table.
Our shows are formidable,
But many times we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable.
We're opera mad in Camelot.
We sing from the diaphragm a lot.

In war we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable.
Between our quests we sequin vests
And impersonate Clark Gable.
It's a busy life in Camelot.

I have to push the pram a lot.

I'm going to have to go with "every sperm is sacred" or whatever that one's called.

Its not the lyrics so much as everyone dancing down the street all chanting "every sperm is sacred, every sperm is great!, if a sperm is wasted, god gets quite irate!".

Has anyone got the double CD of all the python songs?
Demo-Bobylon
27-07-2004, 13:53
Yes! Well, I have the single CD copy. But no-one has mentioned Henry Kissinger or the Galxy (Organ Donation) Song. Or even (take a breath)...
SPAM!

Of course the Organ Donation one! Anyone got the lyrics?

Knights of the Round Table has possibly the only existing use of 'indefatigable' in rhyme, which makes it pretty great in my eyes. However, I have to go for the Philosphers' Song.

"There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teacha 'bout the raising of the wrist...

I must say, I love "I'm so Worried", i play it to most of my friends, if they can stand to sit through it, I know they'll put up with anything I throw at them. i must say my other favourtite, although i'm not sure if it's Monty Python, is the "Uses of the Word Fuck" a song that has taught me more about Grammar then 12 years of school, and so i will always cherish it.

Singing the Philosopher's Song is my party piece, but i managed to freak out my housemates by watching Life of Brian and reciting the script as the movie progressed.

May Life never seem rotten.

Is there any such thing as a bad Monty Python song? I like 'em all!

But, my favorites would have to be "Spam", and "The Lumberjack Song", because it is so funny, and ends at least two different sketchs, including the infamous Parrot Sketch (It's not dead, it's pineing!) The Knights of the Round Table is always a fun one as well.

love them all! (why do u think I am in the montypython regon) :-D

GIRL:
Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty ground.
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.
CHILDREN:
Every sperm is wanted.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.
MUM:
Hindu, Taoist, Mormon,
Spill theirs just anywhere,
But God loves those who treat their
Semen with more care.
MEN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
WOMEN:
If a sperm is wasted,...
CHILDREN:
...God get quite irate.
PRIEST:
Every sperm is sacred

No one said "I bet you they won't play this song on the radio" or the "Australian Philosopher's Song"

And yes, I Like Chinese, I Like Traffic Lights, Spam, Lumberjack Song, I'm So Worried... all great ones.

Half a bee, philisophically, must ipso facto half not be.
But half a bee has got to be, vis-a-vis its entity.
you see?
But can a bee be said to be, or not to be, a half a bee,
When half a bee is not a bee, due to some ancient injury?
