i see no reason that it shouldnt be legalized in the same way that alcohol is legalized

quality control, taxation, keeping it away from children and drivers

I'd vote C, except replace "alcohol" with "cigarettes". Namely taxing the crap out of it and putting Surgeon General's warnings and making it illegal under 18 and all that.

I am all in favour of drug reform but your poor spelling is making me fear that perhaps the Anti Marijuana crowd might be right about what happens if you smoke too much dope.

I will therefore abstain.

We would all be better off if the government took the funding it uses to attack harmless plants and diverted those resources to something usefull -- like combatting dangerous plants, such as posion ivy and venus-fly-traps.

Legalise all drugs for over 18s as long as the potential harm is well known and displayed as instructions (as per, say, paracetemol.) Ban anyone under the influence of thinking and reaction time affecting drugs from driving, operating heavy machinery and so on in much the same way as alcohol.

You can kiss good bye to most inner city and gang related crime at the same time and easing up crime elsewhere as coppers can deal with priorities other than numbnuts killing themselves. And save taxpayers a Hell of a lot of money.

The way I see it, you can get a lot of worse things over the counter these days, and definitely there are worse things in the liquor store. I think that it would be good to separate weed from things like meth and heroin, because it's a different beast altogether. I wonder sometimes though, if when we legalize it, it won't be taken over by the tobacco companies, who will research to find out how to add all kinds of crud to it to maximize the active ingredient while making it addictive.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

I vote no, just because I know too many potheads.

When you see someone who can't remember an important conversation the day after it was had, is prone to uncalled for bouts of laughter, and has trouble with a majority of things needing intelligence, No offense to any intelligent potheads I just haven't found any.

But of course I also despise the open use of Ciggarettes, Alchohol and all that good stuff. so...

It's basically about consistency, as far as I'm concerned. In a Nationstates-style world, where everyone will agree with whatever I say and think(that second one scares me), I'd say keep it illegal and ban alcohol and tobbaco, but that would raise utter hell and cause a public health issue.

Decriminalising possession is a good option, though- the fuzz will take it of you, but they won't actually do anything else. If you're dealing it, though, you're in for some shit.

As for intelligent potheads, I know plenty- I'm at uni. It's irresponsibility that's the thing, whatever it is you use to fuck yourself up.
