heres my problem i listen to heavy metal i love the violence and auacity of the music i like the sound of guitars and drums. i hate premolded mindless morally bankrupt crap that seems to be the norm in pop culture. over the past year i have moved away from the thrash metal that filled my teenage years and have gone towards industrial metal i.e ministry and nin how are now my preferred bands, i want to find more music of the type done by ministry (i recently brought house of the mole' and like all al's previous work i loved it) but i cant find anything smilair withe the enthusing of guitars and samples and speed beats without sinking to the depths of numetal or rap rock which id prefer not too. can anyone help me please all the online music recommendations suggest the same bands over and over i either have the cds or have heard them and chosen not to buy them.

ps if anyone actually managed to follow that then well done ty for reading and HELP!?

I don't know Ministry, and i've only heard a little of NiN, but from your description "the enthusing of guitars and samples and speed beats without sinking to the depths of numetal or rap rock" you might be interested in AFI. Try the song "Dancing through Sunday".

There's not a huge amount of new stuff in this genre, though Killing Joke's last album kicks ass. But, if you're happy to go hunt for old stuff, I recommend - Die Krupps, Godflesh, Young Gods, Treponem Pal, Excessive Force (KMFDM offshoots, you might like some KMFDM, but probably not all of it), Prong, Skrew, Foetus and any of Jim Thirlwell's other projects, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Testify, Girls Under Glass. That should keep you happy for a while. I'm assuming your aware of all the Ministry sideprojects - Lard, Revolting Cocks, Pailhead, etc.

You should keep an eye out for a couple of early 90s compilations - "Hotwired Monstertrux" (http://www.discogs.com/release/204487), "Pure Devotion" (http://www.discogs.com/release/100300) and "Terror: An industrial metal compilation" (http://www.staticwhitesound.com/chrome/discography/Terror.htm) for samples of the scene.

Maybe you should look into some REAL heavy metal, like Iron Maiden. Or some classic Hard Rock, like Ozzy Osbourne. However if you want something along the lines of Slayer (but with more intelligence) I suggest some Scandinavian Black metal - Charon or Sentenced. Or you could just carry on with the whole evil thing and go for Cradle of Filth. Give up the nin though!

Now, I could be nasty and call you a sellout. After all, thrash is back in a big way, but that wouldn't be nice.

So I'll simply urge you to discover the joy that is Lawnmower Deth. Enjoy. :D

Have you tried Children of Bodom? Stunning guitar work.
