I recently got Trigun in a DVD boxset and I've watched the entire series. It was amazing. It certainly gives me high expectations for any anime I watch in the future. It was simply great.

Don't all post at once, please.

It never impressed me that much - it was fun, but compared to Akira it lacks substance and depth.

So you are saying that Akira is even better and that I should watch that next?

I certainly reccomend it: They managed to compress 2000 pages of manga in to a couple of hours very well and it looks great despite it's age (produced in '87).

Trigun has good fashion sense.

Beneath the layer of psychotic violence lies a keen character study, probing the depths of human nature.

No, honestly, I think there is a serious subplot.

Bebop is cool too, and similar in that way. It also has better art.

I've started watching Wolf Rain when it's on; it is hypnotic.

I've seen some Cowboy Bebop and it's good. I keep hearing Akira and Ghost in the Shell mentioned, so I think I'll look into those.

i dislike trigun

they tried to combine 50% comedy, 30% drama, 40% seriousness into a single show, and yes i know its more than 100% thats my point.

there is too much blatant attempts at comedy genre jsut thrown in for no reason. if they cut it back and ironed the genre into something not so random and pointless, i would like it

on second he would be serious then the next second he has a 20 inch head and is laughing and stupid childish crap. the sublt humor i like, but hte out and out ludicrous humor, especially after a normal or serious moment is too random for any show

Yeah, I suppose there is a lot of pointless humor. The second half was much more serious, though.

Trigun is amazing, true.

If you liked it, I'd recommend, like everyone else, Akira. Probably the best single piece of anime out there.

I'd also recommend Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion.

Where can I get Evangelion?

You'll be able to find it on most peer-to-peer file sharing networks, I got the whole series through that. It is massive though, you'll cross the 1GB mark easily by the time you've got the whole thing.

On DVD or VHS you'll end up spending a fortune (which is money I'm 99% sure you don't have).

(disclaimer: Obviously I don't condone or advise that you steal copious amounts of copy righted material)

Size isn't too much of a problem. I have two harddrives with 75 GB each on them. The real problem would be the fact that I have a very slow connection.

thats not a problem because the people send big files really slow anyway

Queue it all in your client of choice then do something else, play some Half Life, read a novel off of the 'net (fictionpress.com is good for this) or whatever. Patience will get you a long way - I downloaded most of NGE over dial up.
