An idea caught me while in a debate earlier.

Have you ever committed a crime? What did you do? Did you know it was wrong when you did it? Have you committed the same crime since then? How do you rate the level of the crime?

I have commited victimless crimes like using marijuana and minor traffic violations.

Yep I knew it was wrong.

committed them since.

I think that if it doesnt hurt anyone then it shouldnt be illegal. Not just physically hurt but financially.

Have you ever committed a crime? Sadly, yes.

What did you do? Well, for one, I have driven a car on the street while underage, and I am pretty sure I driven over the speed limit.

Did you know it was wrong when you did it? Yes I did.

Have you committed the same crime since then? Yes, I have driven illegally several times (though I'm legal now), and sped several times.

How do you rate the level of the crime? Speeding, in my opinion, is not bad unless you are an idiot with it. Speeding to weave in and out of traffic = bad. Speeding because everyone else is speeding and you'd get run over if you don't = good.

Driving illegaly is idiocy I endulged in; who knows what an even less than experienced and even more nervous than normal driver, such as me at the time, could have done?

The way I see things, laws are meerly an inhibition of a specie's duty to reproduction and fulfillment. We'd be a lot happier without governmental laws, and would be able to reproduce a lot more efficiently without religious laws.

Nope, never committed a crime, not even a misdemeanor. Never loitered, littered, jaywalked or disobeyed traffic laws.

You kiddin' me? I think I commit crimes damn near daily ...

I download MP3s and share them with others, I deliberately smoke in non-smoking areas as a protest (hey ... I'll stop polluting your air with my cigarettes when you stop polluting my air with your car), I am a regular visitor on Al Qaeda related websites and am openly a Muslim "sympathizer" (which nowdays, yes, is a crime).

I will continue to do all of the above.
