***Do we really need a 9/11 commision?***

i think this 9/11 commision is just a load of crap. Why do we need to investigate something with the result being "Oh it was nobodies fault, it couldn't have been prevented."

Yes, the 9/11 Commission is necessary. Normally when there is an atrocity like this, there is an investigation. Think of Pearl Harbour or the JFK Assassination.

I notice that in recent months it has been standard conservative practice to try to discredit the 9/11 Commission. First they said that the commission was "partisan". (The report was issued by unanimous agreement from a group of 8 Republicans and 8 Democrats.) Then when that didn't work, they took the desparate option and said, "well who cares, it's all in the past?!!!?"

The only reason for all this is that the 9/11 Commission's findings were not favourable to the Republican Bush Administration.

I didn't like the 9-11 Commision report because it failed to point a finger at the real enemy: Saudi Arabia.

But it was better than most of the crap that comes out of Washington, D.C.

According to George W Bush, we did not need a 9/11 Commission.

According to George W Bush, we did need a 9/11 Commission.

According to George W Bush, that was not a flip-flop.

Blaming Saudi Arabia because Bin Laden is Saudi Arabian is ridiculous.

It's also ridiculous to say 9/11 could have been prevented because a report said "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US” - Where in the US? And which target? It's like me saying I'll bomb a school somewhere in America, you can't put everyone in a panic with such little details.

Two other things factor in here .....
One, the "administration" reps intervened partially through the investigation and "decided" what questions would be best avoided, citing "security/conflict" concerns ... thus altering RIGHT THEN a nonpartisan result.
Two, there was about 70-someodd pages BLACKED OUT of the final commission report for public and private consumption beyond the "administration"'s field of need-to-know.
Most of the people arguing for and against the report have to take into consideration they very likely don't have all the "facts" from it. It would stand to reason the most pressing concerns of the folk involved in the investigation, though under gag order in all likelihood, are trying their hardest to qualify their report with their presentation of changes and adaptations to U.S. security efforts.

Laskin Yahoos didn't say that. Don't make a ridiculous spectacle of yourself.
Dubya the ubergenius himself stated publicly that they only need to be right ONCE. Think about that "little detail" as long as it takes to sink in.

"they" - specifically - the "terrorists".
Anything beyond that feel free to fill in the blanks.

Lol. I guess no more ridiculous than some of the other justifications for the war on terror?

The 9/11 commission was a witch hunt. They did absolutely nothing constructive, and essentially said 'we didn't see it coming'. Nice job retards.

Why exactly did Bush have to testify in front of them? Its not like he has anything to do with the intelligence community, or anything that they should have been investigating.

Did anyone see it coming that they would say they didnt see it coming?
