Who is Savage?

I know of a Michael Savage that wrote a book called the Millenial Project in 1992, but I don't think that's who were talking about on the forums. Who is he?

Savage was on TV for a while. I forgot what channel but I think it was fox. He was a talk show person like our dear Rush. Anyway, he either coined the phrase or said something very similar to the effect of "homosexuality is the disease, aids are the cure". In general he was an asshole. He went on idiotic rants with no factual backing. The TV network eventually dropped him for being a liability. They were afraid of being sued for something he said. Now he writes books. He is a rabid neo-conservative and fundamentalist on all levels.

In my opinion - someone who should not be allowed to reproduce let alone talk at all.

I have a philosophy that our ideas are lifeforms in their own way, and therefore he can reproduce by spreading his absurd messages.

Like I said, should not be allowed to talk.

He was on MSNBC until he told a caller that he hoped he got AIDS and died, and called him a sodomite. Personally, I hoped that MSNBC would hav ebeen forced to pay his contract--not because I support Savage, but because MSNBC was stupid for ever hiring his sorry ass.

Ah, MSNBC, not Fox, my bad.

Easy enough mistake--Fox has O'Reilly, MSNBC has Scarborough. Hell, MSNBC was so dumb that they cancelled Donahue's show while it was the highest rated show on their network. That's the old Liberal media at work again. [/sarcasm]

Oh, so little has changed. I've gotten so tired of hearing the ranting neoconservatives - having moved to LA recently, I've found that they pretty much consume AM radio (O'Reilly's "No, Spin Zone" is the most moderate thing I can find). I've been here three weeks and I've yet to hear anything from a plain, old-fashioned conservative. I imagine in such a place, like-minded people must flock to hear their talking points preached back to them, because it's certainly not quality logic being peddled and ratings must be good. That, or there are a lot of people looking to be entertained such as myself inadvertently supporting these extremists.

I listen til I start yelling at the radio, then turn on a CD for a while.

Pertinent to the first query .... don't know if they're different Savages.
He's got the Paul Revere (sp) Society behind him, for what that's worth.
He's written a few books and has gotten kicked off a few stations.
He's traveled around a few of the islands in support of the only doctorate he has, being NUTRITION.
He tends to talk on every single day he airs about something he ate, is going to eat, or should eat.
To his credit, he doesn't think that the minimum wage issue is so great for people who have worked pissant jobs, in that way differing from reputed majority Repub/conservative thought.
Also, he's said upfront to a caller or two that he doesn't need the support of the Republican party to maintain his integrity as a conservative, and thusly declares his soverignty of "independent". Although, since 9-11, he until only very recently was figuratively fellating the "president" over his aggressive measures towards Islam and getting the whole PNAC movement into overdrive.
He says a lot of things, and like many, doesn't listen much to his callers, they merely supplement his point or get hung up on.
Nutrition. And, he doesn't know JACK about stem cell research.
Hope that's helpful to someone out there.

He's a right-wing extremist whose motto is "borders, language, culture". Sort of like the B.N.P. Compared to him, all conservative radio hosts are liberals. But I still listen to him everyday. I guess that he's the guy that people just love to hate. I don't know what books he wrote. I know that he wrote,"The savage nation", and " the enemy within".

The person said something to Savage and then Savage got angry and he thought he was off the air and he went on to say that.

He's a bigoted fascist reactionary. And, until he got booted from MSNBC (about damn time), he was my daily source of material to use against the Right. Oh, I think he may have some characteristics in common with a human being, as well. But we aren't sure yet.

Savage's political and social views seem to match his very name.
