Just wondering. I'm not a liberal, I went to a conservative East Coast school, and many of my best friends are upper-middle-class white males, so you would think I would have at least come into contact with one person who likes Limbaugh...yet I never have. Nobody I have ever met likes Limbaugh, even my conservative friends. So I was just wondering if anybody around here does, and if so why?

From what I gather he's the right-wing blowhard version of Moore.

hes ok. I personally think hes better then some of the people out there. and for real, if you think Rush is bad, listen to 'Savage Nation' sometime. He is an a-hole imo. Rush I think is almost funny. The one thing that pisses me off when i used to listen to him(disc. A coworker at my old work used to listen to him on a portable radio in his shop, so i was 'forced' to listen :) ), is that not one show went by when it didn't bring up Clinton. Clinton wasnt a great president, but damn, he wasn't the devil as some of these blowhards would make you believe, and i even voted for him, BOTH times(yes i voted for both Bushes, but they were the less of two evils imo).

he brings up some good points, and he does use stuff to back up his claims. BUt like most commentators, i feel they are more self serving then really caring about whats good for the country...

He can be real intelligent when he wants to, but most of what he says is merely opinion. Still, I must admit he is very gifted, unlike many right-wing commentators.

I truly believe that Rush and Moore are the same person. They are both fat, bloated windbags that speak to hear themselves spew. I really think it is one person and his name is really Joe who started out slinging hash at some greasy spoon someplace.
OH and no I don't like him, but my dad listens to him religiously. My opinion of him is the same as my opinion of Moore and Stern and Ann Coulter and Molly Ivens. Bloated windbags who just spew to hear themselves spew. Who knows, maybe they are all the same person and sometimes he/she appears as a guy and sometimes as a *girl*

I'll give you my standard answer to the question, I find him amusing. If you view Limbaugh as entertainment he really isn't bad and puts on a decent show, an excellent show when you consider the freqency with which he puts in new material. He's got a good speaking cadence and comes up with some wondeful turns of phrase, although I find his voice a little irritating.

rush and mm should summo wrestle in jello, i'd pay to see that(once, its not a video that would bare repeated viewing)

Limbaugh is good at what he does, no question--I happen to find what he does despicable, but I've got to give props for the talent he brings to the table.

That said, it's important to realize that he's a demogogue and an intellectually dishonest one at that. He's not above making shit up in order to demonize someone, and the bad part of that is that his audience is so large and so trusting that he does real damage as a result.

There's a good parody song on the net of his own quotes clip&pasted that actually talks about him being "a cyst on the ass of humanity". I possess it, it's funny and not very new.
Funny considering why he sidestepped Vietnam, for that matter, as well as the posts by a few on this thread!
He currently has a sole position of radio play in the Iraq "war" theater, for whatever significance that is to anyone.
I also hear he seems to have an "open-back-door" policy and open mind about what frat boys can do with each other, maybe himself included (with just a hint of a smirk tugging that beautiful jowl o' his), something i'm sure the "conservatives" love.
And as for Cold Hard ... i suppose you could consider this forum a role-playing adventure to some degree and it amuses you greatly to live up to the name. The play's the thing!
