I promise on punishment of DEATion that I will not gloat if my candidate wins the election, nor will I gripe if he loses. I will only act if attacked. I ask for others of every orientation to join me on this stance to prevent a long period of unnecessary bitterness between the various political forces on NS.

Erm...I think that this needs to go in NS forum or II forum...not General.

Why does it seem to me like he's talking about RL political elections, a topic which certainly does go into General?

You forgot the "I don't care/I have other things to do" option.

If you don't care, or have better things to do, then why would you waste time clicking the poll option?

I can't make any promises. Honestly, I'm far more worried about the House and Senate races than I am the Presidency. Kerry is to me the lesser of two evils, a man who was no better than 5th in my choices for the Democratic nominee--he beat out Sharpton, Lieberman, and Kucinich in my book. I'll be very happy if he wins, but that alone won't make me gloat.

But if the Dems take back both the House and Senate? It's on like Donkey Kong, and I ain't even playing.

I really can't garuntee my behavior, but I will be 100% civilized. If my candidate wins, I won't be gloating perse but I will make a point that I called it. If he loses, I won't gripe since there will be another in 4 years.

As for the house and senate, projections are for a republican majority in the house and the Senate is still up for grabs but it might stay republican as well.

if Kerry wins, I will only gloat if the Bush fans whine about it.

exception: If Kerry wins a close one after cheating significantly more than Bush does, I won't gloat. But that requires quite a bit of cheating
