Moderately left leaning...not quite. He's so radical he makes George McGovern look moderate! His books are written from an ultra-leftist, rabidly anti-American, Marxist perspective. Yeah, everyone has a right to his opinion, but the problem with him is he ONLY draws from those kinds of sources, whereas a true historian should do as follows (at least, I think):
20% ultra-left sources;
20% left sources
20% moderate sources;
20% right sources;
20% ultra-right sources
