None.

Or instrumental, actually. I did think the "Irish Violin" song from HALO was rather catchy, and I like the Imperial March from Star Wars. Other than that- it's good as backround noise, nothing else.

Free jazz(formless jazz, not jazz you listen to in hotel lobbies or department store intercoms), 20th classical(does the 21st century have an asthetic yet?), indeginous music (not universally, but as a point of origin I find it compelling. It's not to say I groove to anything indigenous.).

Not to say I don't like other aspects of those types or even a smattering of rock bands and a weakness for ska covers, just those make up the bulk of my collection. That and wierd niche music like lounge versions of the Star Wars themes...

No genres, just individual artists and songs....Guns n' Roses, Kid Rock, Toby Keith, Loreena McKennitt, Mary Fahl, John Williams, Johny Horton, Bobby Horton, et al...

It's okay. Apology accepted. Actually, it was kinda funny...anyway, what's your nation's motto? If it isn't already, I think it should be "Me!"

So I take it these statistics won't be in a sort of "the average NS user" or "NS user demographics" report?

No. Sorry, I didn't mean to accuse you...it was just the 'crazy' that threw me off for a second, so...sorry if I falsely accused you of insulting me.

As for my vote as "Other," if you'd like more information: Drum and Bass.

My opinion of Drum and bass, in the words of Drew:

No offense or anything...

i voted 'other' since I listen to rock, and there's no way I'd vote for 'rock'n'roll' which brings to my mind 50s rock. Bleh.

Or Kiss... I WANNA ROCK AND ROLL ALL NIGHT AND PARTY EVERYDAY!
*shudders* other is the way to go, because some of the greatest bands jump between genres, or create them themselves. Look at The Beatles, and the differences between songs such as Blackbird (Folk), Helter Skelter (Early Punk), Everybodys Got Something To Hide Except for Me And My Monkey (Good 60s Rock), Why Don't We Do It In The Road (Almost Blues, but very different), and Honey Pie (fairly annoying, sounds like a song that would be played in a saloon in the Old West with more modern lyrics). All of those are on the same album, by the way. Radiohead does the same with their older more alt-rock-ish songs to electronic later and then to some crazy experimental thing. See also: David Bowie, The Pixies, Weird Al? (not really)
