Factory farming

Free range farms are being demolished to make way for a new breed of farms, the factory kind. but these can in no way be considered as right or moral.

These are some of the things which happen in factory farms:

1....Chickens are put in cages the same size as an A5 peice of paper. They are forced to lay eggs and when they can no longer produce CHOP...chicken pie. The cages are not cleaned and as many cages as possible are stuffed into a small shed.

2....Cows (between 15 and 20) as put into a shed around 40 meters long. which means disease is passed quickly and effiently.

is this right??? plz leave your veiws

I think factory farming chickens is morally and ethically outrageous, because the eggs taste bland.

Actually the chicken we normally eat is not old egglaying chicken but a very young and fast grown bird which moving has beem strictly blocked so that it's meat would be more tender. Those old birds may end up into chicken pies, hamburgers etc, as meat in ready-made products can be almost anything.
Some farmers say their chickens can move freely, but usually it means that the farmer keeps lots of animals in larger cages. One chicken still has this A5 size and usually these "free" chickens don't have feathers as they pick on each other all the time. So if this bothers you, stop eating meat or start buying organic grown products.

The best answer is to make sure you buy free range, organic food as much as possible. It's expensive, but I reckon if you cut down the amount you eat, and eat orgnaic, free range etc, then you'll be healthier and save money. It just means not eating the crap we all love to eat.

The other option not available to most is to grow your own. Ok, so it's not practical for everyone to keep pigs and cattle, but you don't need much space (just a small garden) to keep chickens. You can buy coops specially designed for city living, you get great tasting free range cheap eggs. It's also very very satisfying.

Dude. You're not going to just stop the meat industry. You have to make the choice for yourself: stop eating meat or whatever is bothering you, raise the products yourself, or shut the heck up.

Why is this so? The normal man is an omnivour... meaning... WE EAT BOTH MEAT AND PLANTS. Man cannot survive healthily on one or the other alone.

Animal rights activists make me laugh, because normally they make no sense. :headbang:

for the record: I believe I was made with pointy teeth for a reason. It's perfectly moral to eat another living creature. But it is also immoral to (essentially) torture them in order to do it low-cost. Besides, factory farming could lead to widespread collapse of the food distribution chain if we can't keep ahead of mother nature with new antibiotics -VERY FOOLISH.

Many vegans are eating healthier, cos in order to stay healthy, they have to be careful about their nutrition. A vegan doesn't need any extra vitamins, iron etc if she/he knows where to get everything. But then you have to eat quite a lot of beans and nuts. But eating only meat will certainly crash your health.

I hope that bird flu doesn't get too far or we'll have no eggs and chicken as it will definitely wipe out the entire factory's chickens without resistance.
