Kirsten Dunst as an actress?

This is semi-related to my post about Spiderman movies. I just want a review from everybody who cares to respond about what everyone thinks of her as an actress.

Eh, she's okay. But I think she looks too old for her role in Spider-man. She's supposed to be in her 20s but she looks like she is in her 30s. And she has kind of a little girl voice in the movie that annoys me. I like the villians in the movie more than I like MJ.

Thats something of an extreme reaction. Is it how she looks, or how she acts that scares you?

Coincidentally, I picked up my subscription to Time Magazine today to find this short description of Miss Dunst:

Part waif, part bubbly blond, she balances delicacy and vivaciousness a la Meg Ryan

This is under the Cinema section in the edition I have. After that article on Kiera Knightley.

I think she's a hottie, and her acting isn't terrible.

It isn't spectacular, but I have no complaints.

I'm quite jealous of her success. Though i am a straight male with no acting experience. I like to lookup scripts online and play the parts by myself sometimes.

Not the best looking actress, easy to name a handful of actresses who are hotter by far, but she does have enough sex-appeal to make her stand out. :)

*finds that very amusing* Might try that myself sometime, but instead I'd look at how he/she did it and then how I'd do it in his place.

I'd have to agree with you. Looks-wise she ain't the best in business, but her sex appeal is obvious without being whore-like blatant.

Yep, and they sure know how to capitalize on it by having her run around in skimpy dresses, against the wind and in the rain. Good marketing technique.

it's probably best to not base anyone's acting on only a superhero movie...she was in some other very excellent movies....
like interview with a vampire
or....maybe more recently...eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
She's not an incredible actress, but she's far better than the average Hollywood movie star
but then, we put some really crappy people in movies...

?The next one will be it. I?m only contracted to 3 and don?t see myself signing for a 4th or a 5th,? says Dunst, emphatically.

"I don't know what will happen in the third movie. I hope she (Mary Jane Watson) doesn't die. I just think that's kind of an obvious way to go; we have to end it, so
let's just kill her. I just think three's a good number. Mary Jane is a huge, important piece of this film as it's all about the love story. How many movies can you really make about it before you want to stop it while it's still great? You don't want to keep going."

That was Kirsten Dunst talking about how she's not doing Spiderman 4, and I think she letting on that MJ dies in Spiderman 3. Imagine that, Kirsten's very first death scene. It's gotta be a significant scene since MJ is a pretty major character in the Spiderman movie franchise, so this is my two cents on what I think is going to happen.

After the fatal injury is inflicted on MJ, the villian temporary leaves the scene (or is suitably distracted) so that Peter and her can have the last words. Predictably she just tells him how much he loves him. MJ dies (*Dramatic music*). We hear Parker's narrative of that ever-present line "No matter what I do, its the ones I love that get hurt.". Maybe Spidey will throw in a mad howl, then he goes on a mad path of revenge.

I don't see the humor in this comic sequence. Unless one is amused by the semi-invective used in the third image.

*shrugs* Maybe Penny Arcade isn't for you.

I don't know if this earlier strip helps. http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2002-05-06&res=l

Maybe MJ will die while he's got the symbiont Spiderman suit, and he'll go on a mad tear like that and beat up one of his peanut gallery, like Shocker or Rhino or another similarly unimportant villian.
