Hello all people

This thread has a dual purpose.

The first purpose is to celebrate my being on this site for 1 year, through wretched server, the Jolt move, forum 7 and many other things. It has been a wonderful year, and I enjoyed spending my time with you all. You are all some of the nicest people I know.

The other purpose is somewhat less yay(or better depending on your view of me).

That is, I will be leaving nation states.

I have come to this decision several weeks ago when I realized my one year was approaching.

I have spent too much time on here already, and I need to concentrate on study amongst other things. I do not want to leave this game, but I must go as I wish to get into a uni course and they are becoming quite competitive.

There are a few people I would like to thank for some reason in the time I have been on here: in chronological order:
SR – an enemy though he is, he has helped me a lot during this game, a friend in RL, his nation and mine were always at each others necks. If they hadn’t been purged you could have looked back in time and see our n00b threads and n00king each other.
Members of the long extinct, UDI – This was an alliance I created when I was quite young, at its peak it had over 100 nations, but like most alliances, died of inactivity. A short while later
Members of the Galactic Defense alliance – soon after the demise of the UDI, I came across a thread by Dontgonearthere advertising this alliance, at the time the alliance was very new, and was just getting off the ground. I was offered the position as second-in-command and have been in that position for around 7 months in an alliance which has lasted a while. If you are interested in joining this alliance: http://nsgda.proboards24.com. In particular from this alliance I would like to thank DGNT, Kurlej, Comdidia, Thunderstratt, 5 civilized nations, Bobaria, and the other people who were members.
The temple people – back in the days of the original mod temple, Demonic Gophers, Liberal monsters and the other people who floated around in there
The SSA people – some of the best friends I have had on this game. They were always kind, and liked to joke around. TAR, dogs, Matsu, Valia, Colodia and everyone who is a member of the SSA. I would name them but I think I would end up forgetting people… so you know who you are.
Finally, I would like to thank the mods. Although I didn’t always agree with your decisions you did keep everything in order well, and NS is a lot better than FUA and Jolt thanks too you.
And most importantly, Max. Max has given us this free game, an excellent game. He gave us the foundations for this excellent community. He is also a really good author… although in Australia, I was told by a bookshop that Syrup would have to be ordered in from overseas…something which confuses me a bit.
I am sure there are hundreds of people I have missed off there that i havce enjoyed the company of, but i really thank you anyway.

I will probably hang around for the next week or so, to tie up loose ends, and possibly reach my 3000 posts. I also want to see my UN resolution get used, which looks unlikely but it’s possible. (Search for catfish in the UN proposal list).

Anyway, Thanks a lot everyone. I will probably log in here every few weeks or so my nations don’t die of inactivity (so don’t even ask if you can have my nations)

If anyone would like to contact me, email me at lapsebot@hotmail.com or ill be on msn with that a bit.

Thanks a lot everyone.

Lapse.

It was actually Lapse that introduced me to NS, pretty much to take my mind off my dog dying (tomorrow is my 1 year milestone as well) and probably to push me into buying Max's book (though it probably didn't appeal to him at the time). Some might remember the bitter fights that occured between me and Lapse (and my sabotarge of his "Presidential Campaign" not too long ago, heh... still makes me laugh) but it all amounted to nothing. I have nothing against Lapse. No really. Honest this time!

I'm yet to decide if I'll leave NS tomorrow, if I'll just disappear into the sunset (not that any of you would care), but NS is definately going to become a quiter, less exciting place with Lapse gone. There'll be nobody to aim secret ICBMs at.. nobody to argue with over trivial matters... nobody to just generally have a fight with when both of us are bored.

Oh well. I have no idea what I helped Lapse with in NS. I usually try to wreck everything than help. But meh.

*raises glass*To lapse, a credit to the NS community, and for making me eat that horrible can of Spam. Speaking of spam, with no Lapse Spam will probably fall through the floor. I suppose the Spam product line will cry over this loss... oh and spammers of the world as well. There's no Lapse to advertise spam here evermore.

Where was I? Oh yeah, right, saying goodbye.
*raises glass higher*To Lapse!*drinks glass*
Hmm that wasn't wine. Uh oh. I think I'm blind.
