Collectivism isn't as far off as people think. Even though I am an
anti-anarchist (somebody who doesnt believe in anarchy but wants to limit gov't size and power), I can happily say that I will be part of a collectivist society throughout July.
The bike trip on Quebec basically functions as a mini-collectivist society. My group has to all pull together to make decsions, cook meals, pitch tents, get places on time, etc
The term is anarcho-communism, really. Collectivism has bad connotations.

i sure hope you are going to pay attention and take notes.
we need a report when you get back
how tough was it to get consensus on issues? were there some people who did lots of work while some did next to none? if so, how was it handled? was everyone heard on the issues? was everyones point of view taken into consideration before the decision was made?
and how well did the whole group get along?
inquiring minds want to know!

...consensus decision making... the problem here is that a self-ratifying consensus decision is required to recognise and decide that consensus decision making is the correct method of making decisions... if this happens, that is great, but if it doesn't be ready for some very long and very drawn out arguments...
