What a joke we were cheated.
Owen scores in the 3rd minute, portugal equalize in the 82nd, campbell scores in the 90th minute but it is disallowed for NO reason.
Extra time - Portugal score 110th minute, England equalizes (lampard) 115th minute.
Playing time finishes at 2-2.
Penaltys - Portugal win on penaltys, from a very dodgy penalty spot, vassel and beckham miss. I believe it was 6-5 in penaltys.
What an f-ing joke, we were cheated from victory.
Damn swiss referee, just because we beat you.

I'm sorry but i think i must have been watching a different match than you lot. I agree we were robbed of a victory but i think we played a very poor game after Rooney went off.
For one how can you tackle an opposing player & try and get the ball off him if you stand 15feet away from him. you can't, you have to be tight on them to get the ball otherwise they will start to run at you, you stick your foot out they jump over it & fall down, Ref blows for a freekick to them.
When i was taught to play football the defence were told to hold a line outside of the penalty area so that the goalkeeper had enough time to see a shot coming in, you do not stand just infront of him.
I want England to win every match but we won't until we start tackling the opposition as soon as they get possession.
Look at Ashley Cole, marking Ronaldo tight and nearly every time got the ball off him if they had all marked up like that we might have had the right score

It was disallowed because John Terry had his arm on the 'keeper when Campbell headed it in. It's one of those 50-50 decisions that can go either way. When it goes for you it's "A good decision", when it's against you it's "We've been robbed!"

And i never play defence, so i dont know about Defence tactics that much, but yeah, we played too deep, and lost the ball to often, we had a wide defence and couldnt handle what was being thrown at us.

It seems to me that everytime a British sporting team starts getting anywhere in a competition, some official steps in and makes a dodgy descision which gets us booted out. Ihave often wondered whether FIFA & EUFA were either corrupt or juat plain anti-british. That goes for the IAAA, IOC and the rest as well. Actually they are both corrupt and anti-british. The ref in the england / portugal match was clearly under instructions to be biased towards the Portugese.

It pains me to say this but.......even I think they were robbed on the 90th minute and I'm Scottish :|
Terry didn't even look at the keeper. If he did then you could accuse him of actually meaning to "hit" Ricardo although since he didn't, he had no idea of where the keeper would be and just jumped. Completely innocent.
Anyways...atleast it'll stop all this "Rooney is the new Pele" waffle.

Watch the tape, neither campbell or terry touches him, he falls and so does terry, making it look like terrys fault. Watch it from the reverse angle.
You need to stop whining and accept the facts like they are. I thought the goal was good when watching it in real time, but when you look back at the replay, Terry clearly interfered with Ricardo by holding his arm down. Losing sucks, and I know England have made a reputation for themselves as the sorest losers in the world, but please, just drop it, march on. There will be more tournaments and you can't win them all.

Yeah, he DIDN'T touch Ricardo in the same way that Beckham DIDN'T touch Rebecca Loos. The loss is heartbreaking, I know, but you're only lying to yourself right now. Ricardo was obstructed with and the referee made the call he'll always make, regardless of whether the team was England, Portugal, Argentina, Zimbabwe, etc.... Funny how we wouldn't even be having this conversation unless England would have actually been awake between the start of the second half and the eighty-third minute. In my mind we won that game. It sholdn't have even gone into extra time, Terry's arm was above Ricardo's but that's not saying that he was pushing him down. That was a perfectly good goal and the Ref was in no position to get an accurate view of it, the linesman gave it aswell. We didn't play well but we still should have won, that game was an ablsolute shambles. The ref gave Gerrard a yellow card, then the portugese player done exactly the same, but no card. In fact, there were two bad tackles and he didn't even give free kicks for it.
Then theres the penalty spot, there should have been some sort of complaint to move to the other side of the pitch. Maybe we are bad losers, but if it's any consolation, Engaland are the best rioters in the world bar none

I'm not sure why everyone here thinks it's such a travesty (Well, besides the rather large number of England fans trolling this topic). What the play came down was a judgement call for the referee. Terry's arm was clearly on Ricardo, just as Ricardo clearly didn't make his strongest move to go up and get that ball. If it would've gone the other way, you can be sure the same number of Portuguese people would have been bitching about how they got cheated. It was a 50/50 chance of going either way, and yet another reason I'm thankful that I'm not a referee.

We've got a saying over here- take the ref out of play. What it means is if you're good enough, a bad decision won't matter, because you'll be far enough ahead of the opposition. It's what kids get taught here right from five years old. If you get beaten by a referee's decision, no matter how bad, you simply weren't good enough.
England, it turns out, weren't good enough. Get over it.

When it goes for you it's "A good decision", when it's against you it's "We've been robbed!"
football...American or British... same attitude

Get over it.
spoken like a true yank/foreigner.. go flush your head down the nearest toilet (no holding of breath allowed)... that goes for you too Brazillico...
Really? Do you think it will help the fact that ENGLAND LOST?
And anyway, I'm from New Zealand, which means I'm probably more English than you anyway. :P

Heyy! Thats's the spirit! This is exactly why I'm happy England's out. Start playing instead of mocking everyone else. Go Portugal!

Um...so?
Damn swiss referee, just because we beat you.

if the referee had been anywhere near the ball, instead of 30 yards away, he would have seen that there was no pushing by Terry on Ricardo
