This action is appalling, and it saddens and infuriates me to the core. Whatever one's opinions are about Russian actions in Chechnya, Chechen rebels had no right to arrogantly waltz into Russia, and try grabbing land. After all, the Russians were starting to grow disinterested in the area. This, however, gives the Red Army more reasons to thrust into Chechnya, and due to the nature of such acts, I'd hope that the rest of the civilized world can wake up from their empathy, and support Russia in earnst. The Chechens, with known al-Qaeda links, are growing bolder and bolder as the Russians started to withdraw. This shouldn't be tolerated.

All terrorists are nothing but criminals no matter what their cause is. If you want to settle something do it with out killing civilains.

That's a lesson that the Russians should take to heart as well.

They should do that. However, the Russians do have cause to be in Chechnya. They were the first to attack eons ago, and they escalated the violence. They're also trying to secede forcefully, and obviously that won't make the parent country happy. However, Russia has been, in my view, rather kind to the Chechens. For one, they've made it virtually autonomous, with a president. They were withdrawing for crying out loud. And yet, the terrorists don't want to quit. If Russia doesn't renew it's offensive, it'll only be a matter of time before the terrorists launch large operations in Rostov.

I have to agree Purely. I myself think its time for Russia to go in and bust some heads.
