Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed what can only be described as a reckless approach to their website, consisting of typos, misspellings and flat out goofy editing choices. Anything happen at CNN I should be aware of, like a 50% slash in their editorial department?
Here's an example of one of the goofy editing choices. http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/South/06/22/children.drowning.ap/index.html
The caption on the picture reads: Carole de Ibern shows a photo of her son who was left brain dead after almost drowning during Monday's hearing in Tampa.
Now, does that caption not sort of imply that the poor tyke drowned during Monday's hearing, rather than drowning previous to it? I mean, I know it gets deep in court rooms sometimes, but who gave this caption the go ahead?
Am I overthinking this, or should I be concerned that one of the most widely read news sources has apparently decided that punctuation, spelling and grammar are for other stations?
