Did anyone else see this particular horror film? I'm just wondering if anyone else who did agrees that the ending was totally implausible.

how was it implausible? the part where they made the massive sheets saying 'HELLO!' while the things starved to death, or the part in the mansion where they outran the evil zombie thingies(i just saw it a week and a half ago... very fresh in my memory... creepy.)

There's multiple endings, which one are you referring to?

I mean really two things.
1. That the courier, who was till recently shell shocked and had trouble killing an infected boy, could suddenly become a super-ninja and kill most of the soldiers, by various clever means.
2. That people whose other option is scavenging out in the horrible ruins with monsters constantly hunting them would rather do that than consider possibly having sex with some soldiers who can definitely protect and feed them.

The ending was okay. The alternate endings were horrible. The last act of the movie was pretty bad, while I really enjoyed the first two acts (when he is alone, and then everything up until they meet the soldiers).

Overall I think this is a good movie. I was really impressed by the athletic zombies! The soundtrack was great as well. Most modern horror is drek, and 28 Days Later was a breath of dank, creepy air. ;)

Overall it was good. i think right up till when the commander announces their plans for the women and the courier freaks out that it was good..it was truly creepy, combining post apocalypse with zombie horror.
I also thought it was a nice touch that since it was in Britain there were no guns readily available.

haha, unlike the end of the last Resident Evil movie. Grabs a shotgun straight off a windshield. lame.

I just liked the movie. And the ending wasn't that implausable. The courier could have snapped, it happens to people under exteme stress. If so, his morals and sanity drop and he would have no problem killing others. Thats what I think happened. In regards to the soldiers - would you want to be raped?

SPOILER!

I liked the very end when you find out that the Island was just in a quarintine zone, that was just kinda cool.

I liked the movie.

* daydreams about a pretty little mansion ringed with razor wire, floodlights and machine-gun emplacements *

BTW, what was the alternative ending? -- I understand there is one on DVD, but in the movie theatre they showed only one ending (unless I left too early  )

*SPOILERS*

Apparently the alternate ending is where Jim (courier) gets shot by the army guy, and dies as Selena and the girl try to revive him in a hospital.

Thanks.
That does sound like a lame ending.

But it would fit better with the whole futility death and destruction theme of the otherwise decent movie.

Yeah, but did she not take it from off of a damaged police car any-way ?

So really, its not too surprising the shottie was there, the poice turned up as the virus was spreading, tried to contain the situation, and got eaten. Hence the left over shottie. I've yet to see a zombie chew on a fire-arm, but maybe thats just me. It also left the movie wide open for a sequal, because she just steps out, picks up the gun, its all quiet, she pumps it, and thats it, hit music, cue credits.

Might I add, 28 Days Later was brilliant, I'm even going to buy it on DVD.

I liked the ending with the jet and the sheets, cause it was plausible, solved the story of if Britain would be for-ever zombie-fied ( Like it is not already ... j/k j/k j/k ! )

And courier guy was cute. But you didn't here it from me.

Sho', but then, instead of a lame-o hospital death scene, it would've been better to have the threesome wake up in their idyllic little cottage, walk outside and suddenly see hordes of cackling zombies emerge on the edge of the forest. -- Pwned just when they thought they got away.

Jim only kills one of the soldiers himself. With the bayonet , he doesnt shoot anyone else, and everyone else is killed by the infected he releases in the mansion its not like the bike messenger turns into rambo or anything, and it make percect sense that the first thing that woulds happen is the island would be quarentined , however Id be the plane wouldnt pick them up, for fear of bringing the infection off the island.
