My opinion? George Washington, hands down. Followed by (in no particular order): John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Abe Lincoln, Grover Cleveland.

Washington.
Jefferson...
Lincoln.
Kennedy.

I wouldnt quite compare Kennedy with the rest, but he's probably the best one weve had in the last hundred years.

I dont get what Kennedy did, the only reason people say he was because he was killed so tragically.

How about..."Prevented World War III", or "Diverted Nuclear holocast".

My favorite is FDR.
Here's why:
Relieved the Great Depression
Got us through all but 6 months of WWII
Died in office(I think it's sad)
Was so well like He was elected FOUR times(of course it was outlawed after he did, but whatever)
and I just like him a lot

Personally i have to say that our current Pres is one of the best we have had. I think he has done an outstanding job this past 4 years, and if i could vote this year, i would vote for him(i turn 18 in Dec a month after the friggin election)

I'd put Lincoln first for steering the country through such a historic period of our country.

Washington would come next for setting the precedent of giving up power after holding a term in office. He could have easily kept the office and sent our country whirling in a different direction.

FDR

Eisenhower....nothing special about the presidency but the era he presided over was one of the greatest of our history.

Garfield...for being the only president to have a cartoon cat named after him.

I'd go with Washington, if only for the reason that he is the only truly reluctant man elected president, and with the exception of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, he did more to shape the politics of early America than anyone. The only real blemsihes I can think of during his tenure was his adamant enforcement of the excise tax (more or less caused the Whiskey Rebellion) and the Jay Treaty of 1794.

Bah, you're lucky that we didn't take Roanoke when we split off from you all. The initial map of West Virginia had about 15 counties that ended up in Virginia when we became a state (June 20, 1863).
