Piracy Ads

I just saw a piracy ad at the start of a rental DVD (Cube 2: Hypercube), and I found it hilarious!
It featured a Satanic-looking blacksmith holding an "X" brand, with the ad asking "Do you want to wear the pirate'd brand?". It then went on to tell us how evil DVD piracy is, with my favourite quotes being "Piracy funds organized crime" and (even funnier) "Piracy funds terrorism!".
Personally, while I'm against piracy on a moral level, these kind of scaremongering ads come off more like a joke than a serious warning. Kind of like the old "Reefer Madness!" anti-marijuana short films.
Anyone got an opinion on these ads?

Sounds crazy and retarded. I've always been against the music/movie industry for stuff like this, after all, I had to buy the DVD burner/CD burner and/or DVDs/CDs, not to mention someone had to buy the movie for me to copy it.

The ones with the behind the scenes workers like stuntmen and gaffers (light men for you who don't know) are pretty good. They are about how piracy detracts from their already not so great wages. But yeah don't like scare ads. Stupid and cheesy, scare ads bad. :D

I've seen a few anti-piracy ads before movies in theaters, but I haven't seen any of them that mention terrorism or organized crime. Anybody know a site where I can get free copies of these piracy ads?

The ads are stupid... people are going to pirate movies, music, you name it, with or without ads; it's just a waste of government money.

I saw the ad you speak of, New Fubaria, it was on me Donnie Darko DVD. I agree, it was bloody funny - even a parody could've been less funny - don't see where you're going with the immorality of piracy though.
You never see the anti-piracy ads on the pirated stuff though, do ya? I think it'd be funny to leave 'em on - especially when their like this one.

I am happy to ignore any anti piracy warnings that i see. Intellectual property law is a load of crap as far as i am concerned.
