Should keeping dangerous pets be made illegal?

There has been an extremely unfortunate case here in Israel- first time in the state's history that a human was killed by a pet animal. A 4 year old girl was attacked and killed by a family Amstaff dog.

Several weeks before that, there has already been a case of an Amstaff attacking a child. Yesterday there was another one.

This begs for a question- should it be made illegal for people to keep potentially dangerous pets, including dogs like Amstaff and Rottweiler, or would it infringe on these people's freedom to own whatever monster they want?

the Rottweiler and other dogs arn't too bad if trained early and bred properly, the reason why they can be aggressive is that 'cowboy' dog breeders brred them with no thought for how the dogs will turn out, they just want the profit.

and that comes from a pug breeder :)

But some dogs, like pit bulls and Amstaffs, were originally bred for fighting, and selected primarily for maximum agression. It is them I am talking about- should they be banned?

Not really - alot of those dogs were cross-bread with other dogs to rid them of that aggression

Safety before entertainment. Some breeds of dogs are already banned from importing in Hong Kong.
