Pft. Michigan is Jeff Gordon's personal bitch. He has a career average finish of 2nd there, and won the pole by 8/10 of a mile per hour. That's freaking huge.

And I live 1/2 mile from Pocono Raceway. Me > j00. :P

do not blaspheme the beloved sport of my chosen people. i have annointed the rural and semirural people of america as my own and with them their beloved sport of stock car racing, from the lowliest spectator class dirt track weekend warrior right up to the eliminator who sits at my right hand on the big couch sunday afternoons.

Wow, Lost Planet doesnt care about racing I am so embarrassed.I care a lot about racing, it's my passion. Only the racing I care about is done on bicycles and requires superb skill and conditioning. A bunch of yahoo's driving in circles isn't racing.
Lance Cahill
21-06-2004, 06:21
Actually it does require conditioning if not most likely the driver will pass out and BTW what is your definition of yahoo?
THE LOST PLANET
21-06-2004, 06:28
Actually it does require conditioning if not most likely the driver will pass out and BTW what is your definition of yahoo?Conditioning is what it takes to ride 6 hours a day for three weeks for a single event. I doubt your average NASCAR driver could complete the first day. Yahoo's are guys who think motor sports are real sports. Limme clue you, athletes don't use motors.
Kampfgruppe 400
21-06-2004, 06:44
Nope, they don't use motors, they use steroids.

I was referring to atheletes in general, not focusing on cyclists. And why are the rules so strict in cycling? Because about 80% of them at least WERE using it?
These days it's people like Barry Bonds, etc.

Yeah whatever, back to interesting subjectsI was referring to atheletes in general, not focusing on cyclists. And why are the rules so strict in cycling? Because about 80% of them at least WERE using it?
These days it's people like Barry Bonds, etc. Yeah cycling had a string of well publicized abuses, but they cracked down, hard. Not like, say baseball, which just kind of shrugs and looks the other way.

BTW, anybody like that new Lance Armstrong Nike commercial, the one where the little kid in the football helmet comes up on his wheel in the end? I love it! You have to be a cyclist to understand the significance of that image of the little kids 20 inch wheel latching on behind Lance's Trek. Cyclists draft just like NASCAR racers, you can hold somebody's wheel and work up to 30% less. If you can latch onto someone you basically make them your bitch, so you do everything in your power if your the guy in front to shake 'em loose. Thats why I love those last few seconds of that commercial, that little kid is punking a five time Tour winner.
