Well, we've tried asking them nicely to give up their childish ways. I thought I'd take one for the team and talk to them in a language that they can comprehend.

Ah, you're back, Lithuanighanistania, could you do me a favour and explain your "they burned down the White House" comment in the "US will never be conquered thread"? It continues to baffle me. Cheers.

Actually it was the Canadians and British. But Canadians will forever be Frenchies to me.

Well, I made it as retarded as I could without actually having sound. If I had some sound, I could really convey the message effectively.

Yeah, I know who burnt it down. It was your leap between the War of Independence and the War of 1812 and between discussion of the French to remarks concerning two completely different countries which floored me.

I'm out of here. Here endeth the temporary thread hijack.

What does the burning of the WHite House by British Troops have to do with any alliance between the US & France, though?

And Canadians. Canadians are French. 1867 they gained independence. Therefore, the French (perhaps not single-handedly) burnt down the white house. That and the alliance thing was just to point out that alliances are crap. LUNCH TIME!!!

1867 they gained independence.

Yeah: from whom?

Therefore, the French (perhaps not single-handedly) burnt down the white house.

Canadian != French.

Herein lies the problem.

Well... I agree with everything you said in the original post, Lith.
But more than one sentence... I don't think that's important, as long as they are actually contributing to the discussion. If the one sentence is a good one and also short, sweet and to the point, then let them be praised as well.

That's all I really have to say.

Lith, sorry about the hijack, here, but I'll leave you alone now. I guess I should have suggested we take this up again in the original thread. Apologies.
