So, we all know that the move The Day After Tomorrow is a movie about how "global warming" will somehow freeze the earth. Ok, ponder that for a second, "warming" freezes the earth. Anyway, moving on, have you ever examined the title of the movie? Yes, The Day After Tomorrow. Having spent my childhood under the cloud of nuclear annihilation culminating in an adolescent No Nukes stance - I found the world to be a much less reasonable, let alone rational, place than one could hope for.

I believe we should do what we can to conserve the enviroment. But I am (we are?) heavily outnumbered by SUV and pick up truck owners and people who feel the need to have air conditioning that is more like refrigeration in summer and heating their homes so it is like a sauna in winter.

I think T.S. Eliot may have been more right than he knew when he said;

Its a movie, not a science documentary. Get over it.

Actually...it's based on the theories of a Harvard professor. It's not really about global warming, it's about the North Atlantic Flow. It supplies North America with the weather patterns because the flow starts down south, where it is naturally very warm. The heat carries over to North America, giving us warm springs and summers. But, when the Earth shifts, the Atlantic flow it changed, therefore making it colder during fall and winter. I'll explain more later.

The fact is the weather patterns on Earth have existed far longer than anyone has been keeping track of them. Therefore it is complete nonsense for anyone to claim that they know exactly how much impact mankind is having on the planet's climate changes.

I'm not saying there isn't some global warming going on but it's quite possible that it would happen even if we were all living in grass huts and got around town by swinging on vines.

The Atlantic flow works because of the properties of warm salt water and cold salt water. It flows ontop when its warm and flows at the bottom when its cold. With the melting of the norht and south pole ice, the water of the oceans is becoming less salty, which affects how it behaves when cold or warm. Thus the atlantic flow can stop and wont transport warmth anymore, thus making the entireworld climate colder. Its a very good theorywhich is already starting to become reality.

WHO CARES??!! God, I hate the stupid Liberal Tree Hugers who are alwyas complaing, they can get over it! Who cares if one day my Great Great Great ............ Nephew will have to put up with it

Global warming WILL freeze the earth


well part of it, most of Northern Europe which is heated by the golf stream will become like Siberia but changing rain patterens will change the equator into a giant desert cauins mass starvation and a huge refugee crisis

Well, it seems possible.
If Global Warming shifted the jetstream enough (like in the movie) and created super-hurricanes, it might happen.

If you want to bring up science, how about some basic physics, like in the end where the helicopters land on the building and people totaly fail to fly off in the backwash of those two oversized rotors.

Or how about the fact that no buildings ever collapse on their own weight after being frozen through in three seconds...steel gets pretty brittle at temperatures like that.
