Not really the best choice of words, but the point gets across.

The president answered:"The reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and Saddam and al Qaeda, because there was a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda."

Is there any real proof of this. Because as I understand it, it was recently deemed by the 9/11 commision that there was no relationship. Other than they had business dealings with the US ;)

Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases."

General question: Was this evidence submitted to the commision?

If you repeat something often enough, people will start to believe you.

Bush knows that well.

Yeah the relationship was 3 meetings between Al-Qaeda and an Iraqi intelligence operative in 1992 in Sudan, Al-Qaeda asked to be allowed to establish training camps in Iraq, Iraq never replied, and that was that.

Can you source this?

But surely, if Iraq never replied then there was no relationship?

And Bush asserted that "Iraq has trained al Qaeda members in bomb-making and poisons and deadly gases." (CNN). How is this so if Iraq never replied?
