Yes he is horrible at speeches.

And he says "I fully understand" entirely too much.

But he's Texan. And that's all that matters.

Do you ever find people who say "Trust me" far too much, to the extent you know they aren't trustworthy? I think there are parallels....

He is a Texan, but I think that's all he understands.

Probably so.

A Texan ideology on a national level.

Beautiful.

So lets whoop 'em good and have some barbeque. Delicious!

You do all realise he doesn't write his own speeches, so don't blame it on him. In fact the one speech he did do spontaniously was loved, and praised. (After Sept 11 he took a megaphone and spoke to people at ground zero)

Oh, I know he doesn't write his own speeches. Very few politicians do. That's what speech writers are for. :)

I do agree that he is great at spontaneous stuff, mostly because he speaks very plainly and gets to the point.

I was making a point that during some Q&A with reporters within the last week he kept saying, "I fully understand."

Granted the reporters were asking the same questions in different ways, but it struck me as odd. Maybe he was just returning the favor to them.

P.S.

Who says, "I stand behind this."

Or was that a general statement about politicians?

Did his speechwriters make up the word 'misunderestimate', as in "They misunderestimated me?" My housemate has a calender of Bush's Balls such as these - hilarious.

The debate on whether his presidency was good for America will go on for years, but you'd be fighting an uphill struggle to convince the world George Dubbya isn't a bit ... misundereducated!

My Bush speech:

"Terrorist Terrorist Terrorist! 9/11 9/11 9/11!! Al Quaida Al Quaida Al Quaida!!! Saddam Hussein Weapons of Mass Destruction Saddam Hussein Weapons of Mass Destruction Saddam Hussein Weapons of Mass Destruction!!!! Hunt Kill Hunt Kill Hunt Kill No Escape No Escape No Escape!!!! Resistance is Futile Resistance is Futile Resistance is Futile! Oil Oil Oil. God Bless America God Bless America God Bless America And Nobody Else."

That should do and keep the US citizens pacified and silenced for another year or so.
