there is this hot girl, named Maria.


I should call her, but I don't know if i should. I know she would love hearing from me, but I she doesn't know that I am going to tell her that I am getting mobilized and will be in Iraq soon.

why don't you ask her to do something pleasant with you, that's in that grey area between a date and just a friendly activity and see how things go from there. perhaps a daytime or afternoon activity, they seem to feel less awkwardly contrived toward romance. lunch and a museum or a visit to a park or a matinee, or some such.
