Eve of Destruction" was a grave, prophetic warning of imminent apocalypse. It was a song that expressed the frustrations and fears of young people in the age of the Cold War, Vietnam, and the arms race.

I'm not sure what the problem is with people and their views of "Hippies" they embodied freedom in every sense.. they helped stop a political war in Vietnam. Who do you think started the movement to end the Vietnam war? It was the Hippies.

It's the same as how "liberal" has become a bad word today.. (well, only in the USA) It's all right-wing propaganda..

The right-wing will stoop to any level to silence it's opposition because they can't defend their wanting to restrict freedom and run your lives according to their so called moral compass. They talk about freedom and then bash the very people who exercise it more then any one else.
