Well there we was, 1 - 0 up with three minutes to go in one of the biggest matches in Euro 2004.
Hesky makes an awful, uncessary challenge just paces outside of the England box.
Free kick called, and Zidane hammers it straight into the back of the net.
( 91 MIN ) ( 1 - 1 )
Uh - oh but we cant help but screw up again, Gerrard makes an absolutly terrible pass back, straight to Thierry Henry, undoubtably one of the best players in the world. Well of course he runs, and David James takes him out.
Penalty called, Once again Zidane hammers it straight into the back of the net.
( 93 MIN ) ( 2 - 1 )
Well we cocked up again, in another important football match.
Great.

Yeh same. I support Arsenal myself, but there are only like three french players in the Arsenal Starting line - up, Pires, Henry and Viera, so i dont get why everyone makes such a big deal out of it.
I tuned in to watch England dissolve, still, it was better than the European Election stuff on BBC2...

Svens objectives -
1. Win a game.
2. Buy that new sofa from ikea.
3. Re-learn when good times for substitutions are. ( i.e taking rooney etc off in the 80th minute, not one of his best moves ).
4. Teach gerrard which way he has to shoot.
5. Teach Hesky, that he should just aviod all forms of tackling.
6. Get a player who can score penalties.

AAAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAAA*cough*HAHHAAAHAHA!
Wheeee...
Seriously, I saw the game, and besides the last three minutes it was all insanely boring. Both teams were playing like frightened bunnies, afraid to take any initiative whatsoever.
England has only itself to blame, first missing the penalty shot (go Beckham!) and then making such an obvious foul in the last minute that allowed for France's shot.
BTW, I'm not French, but we have some French relatives over, so that's who we were rooting for. I'm Swedish, and tonight we play! (Maybe tomorrow I'll be the one to go hide in shame...we'll see).

Funny that, what is our national sport? Rugby (union/league), cricket, football? They all started here. As a rugby fan I'll take Rugby, last blip of a result not withstanding.

It's not the fact that we won on the weekend, its the fact that we dominated control, took apart the lineouts, our rookies outplayed their experienced opponents, our outside backs finished in style and we turned the all mighty english scrum. Then we whomped them by 33 points. This wasn't just an average 24-17 victory between 2 good teams, this was a hiding.

*crackle of radio static*
This is the ten o'clock news...
...the government is setting-up couselling centres up and down the Empire for depressed people, everyone from homeless to managing directors (some say even the king) have been swarming to these centres in tears to find new meaning in life. New Empire medical workers are stretched to the limit with the sudden jump in suicide-rates.
Angry groups have sprung up forming great mobs armed with pitchforks and flaming torches, they are swarming with rage toward the French national borders.
Our armed forces have been sent to defend the French borders but as so many of them saw the game, they too are deserting to join the mob.
*police sirens in background*
We expect to have the riots under control sometime over the next few days. Until then, it's every man man for himself.
*smash of breaking glass*
Oh minge, they're in the building! EVERYONE OUT!!
*more smashing and the the sound of crackling flames*
RUN DAMMIT, RUN!!!
*sound of staccoto machine-gun fire*
*high monotone whine of "No Signal"*

Oh that game made me mad. You'd think taht after handing onto our fluke lead for 90 odd minutes that a little 3minutes extra time wouldnt be too bad!
questions:
1. Why take Rooney off he was the only one being ballsey enough to do anything agressive?
2. In gods name why put Hesky on?????? He does it nearly everytime, wants to be a hero goes for the tackle to save the day but then realises that he cant takle to save his life let alone the match. Even Scholes can tackle better than he can!
3. Why is Mr David James such a wuss, if he'd gone in with his head and arms rather than his feet , Henry would have walloped him in the head and it would have been our free kick to us not a penalty.
4. Why let Beckham take the penalty? Not the brightest idea putting him up against Bartez whos seen him take penatlies and knows how he works god knows how many times.
5. Was Owen actually on the pitch, i dont know it was rumoured he was but i dont recall seeing him.
Ok rant over, i should be used to England screwing it up by now i suppose.

maybe exactly because he *was* agressive ?
I mean, that's not a good idea to get a key player booked because he is gradually loosing his temper , now, is it ?

And that would be the reason that we made no impact on that game, no one is brave enough to take any risks.
Yes he was getting a bit heated and yes he had already been booked once. But is it likely that he'd risk doing anything stupid and give up his chance to play, no? What he had was that he didnt care about the reps of the other players whilst the rest of the team cowered in their boots because Zidane was on the field.

Really ? Seing his behaviour with Vierra after one of his fouls ? The former patting him, advising him to cool down, him pushing angrilly back ?
He still looks young, and inexperimented, he could have left his temper take the better part of him .
