No, thats the only thing I need to take to get my permit. Rules from state to state vary though.

I took a driver's ed class, but I only have my permit so I can't know for sure what is on that test.

Apparantly you just drive around, stop at lights, do 3 point turns, park on an upgrade/downgrade, and park in parking spaces. I've heard if you run a red light, stop sign, or hit the curb, they can fail you. I wouldn't exactly advise these things anyways. But they do it in your car, I think, and before the test they have you turn on the turn signals, parking brake, etc. so they can do a simple check of you knowing to do that.

In case you don't know what a 3 point turn is, it's failry simple. Signal to pull over, then pull over. Watch for traffic. Then turn to the other side of the road, stop before you hit the curb, and then backup some to align yourself. Drive forward. You are basicly turning around.

if you are just getting a permit, read through the book a couple times. the test isnt hard but there will be a couple "trick" questions like how long it will take to stop a car going a certain speed or how drunk you would be at a certain alcohol intake.

if you are taking the road test, its not hard if you know how to drive! if you can parallel park your car you will have no problems. make sure you stop fully at all the lights and stop signs, use your signals, brush up on the rules of driving on one-way streets ( like making a left turn from the left lane on a one way street). drive very precisely and obey all the rules and youll do just fine.

if you look at all the fools who are driving today, well, THEY passed the test, how hard can it be??
