Why haven't more people tried to assasinate Bush?

Even though the Cat's Meow is a troll, he's raised an interesting point. As so many people hate Bush, how come more people haven't tried to assasiante him? Is it unfounded hate, cowardice, or something else?

You know hwo many secret service men cover him, many, many, they are people you wouldnt expect, anyways no one truley hates him to see him dead.

Perhaps it could be because even though he may be a horrible president, he still holds the office? We do not merely kill off our leader merely because of his stupidity and incompetence.
And I'm sure that even those who are so extreme to have even thought of such an idea, the idea of Cheney taking over is even more frightening.

Anyway, yes, I agree with Unfree People. His politics are in almost direct contradiction to mine...but I wouldn't wish him harm on a personal level.

I hope that the people who say " I want bush dead" gets picked up by the FBI. Because why kill a man?

Still, there are always those on the fringe of every opinion. Those with the most hate for him are obviously al-Qaeda, but more importantly, ecoterrorist groups at home, like ELF. It makes me wonder why they haven't tried something.

yeah, i agree... his bodyguard and secret service must be working in overtime. and they probably try to keep the press mum on whatever they might hear- no need to raise more dissention and fear.
