Welcome to NS, try not to get addicted. If you want to be respected on the forums, be courteous and civil. Use proper spelling and grammar. Avoid flaming or flamebaiting. In other words, don't go around insulting people without reason.

Read the first post of every sticky, perhaps the first page. If you're interested in role-playing, especially read the stickies. That will make sure you don't do what is known as "godmodding" where you use technology far beyond your capabilities and refuse to take losses. The stickies in International Incidents will help you become a better role-player.

Use common sense. If you forget everything else, remember that.
