Nancy Breaks Down

I'm watching the family service now... and Nancy finally broke down, crying, over the casket.

And, now, I'm crying, too.

At last! Nancy went out of shock and into mourning! I'm very happy for her, because it's extremely unhealthy to bottle her feelings up this way.
Yet, I'm very sad for Nancy. Ronald and she loved eachother deeply. I now fear that, possibly, Nancy may die of a broken heart. But we know she's a strong woman. She's lived seeing her husband slowly die over the years. She can live through this.

Yes it is a sad day, but let us remember how he lived.

My mother is also crying.

I watched the service for 3 minutes before I left, frustrated and bored. There's been FAR too much hype about some fellow who pretended to lead the country for a few years before kicking the bucket. The closed the post office today and I can't pick up my rather important package until Monday because this guy's dead body's being stuck in the ground today.

93 is not an age to be sorry about. he lived a long and productive life. it should be celebrated (well not by ME) not mourned.

nancy was a devoted wife in an age where devotion is all too rare. i admire her for it

Absolutely, he was just one guy. Sad and all but no more sad than every other death. I'm rather tired of the hype about him, lol.

Well I am, but that's not the point. I can respect his death and his life without going into shambles over his funeral. Oh and I don't believe in god...

I thought it was touching when his kids spoke. Though I hope Reagan-mania is over now.

Oh and I don't believe in god...No said you were American, all apologies if you were offended. There are, at last count, 7472 threads on General alone. There are multiple "Hate Reagan" threads you could pour your little hate out on, there is no need to deliberately offend people with your leftist hate-speech.

First i could tell you are an American by the fact that you said the Post Office was closed, it only makes sense that it would be close in the US.
Secound you should honor him while they are burying him. I wouldnt say its hype. I think he earned it. I dont care that you dont believe in God, I do and Pres Reagan did too, and so does Pres Bush, and many other people in this country and around the world.

Buh, what does that have to do with anything?

EDIT: Oh for Jeebus' sake. Just accept that people have negative opinions about Reagan.

It isn't hate-speech; I don't hate Raegan; I dislike the media's hype about him. I apologize if I've offended you, but I think you took my words too harshly.

Foxxinnia, um, I did say I was American, in fact I think I live in the same state as you, no??

TH, sorry, I'll leave your thread alone now. Though I do think another Raegan thread was not necessary.

That's kind of asking for a political discussion IMO. You can't condemn someone for having a different view than you on a promininent political figure nor can you say 'only republicans can post here lollolo" or something dumb like that.

Personaly I'm glad it took Ronnie 10 years to slowly die from Alzheimers. And I'm glad Nancy had to watch him suffer. If you could have seen the number of people in Nicaragua who suffered when Ronnie decided to deny them access to medication because he didn't like the government that the people had elected you might feel the same way.

The poor people in this country suffered greatly under Reagan and it was even worse for the impoverished around the world, all the while Nancy paraded around in desginer dresses that were given to her as gifts from the wealthy elite. His death is only more proof that only the good die young.

The Sandanistas weren't elected either...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/november/5/newsid_2538000/2538379.stm
http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/S/Sandinist.asp

In 1984, Sandinista leader Daniel Ortega Saavedra won the Nicaraguan presidency in an election that was boycotted by some opposition groups.

Within hours of the count beginning, the leader of the country's left-wing junta, Daniel Ortega, said he had gained nearly 70% of the vote in the presidential election.

What was that again?

Or we can talk abou the innocent Cubans he had murdered in Grenada. Or the murders in Lebanon. Or the murders in Columbia. Or the arming of Iran and Iraq. Or the training of the Mujahideen and Al Queada. Whichever.

You're own info does your arguement in...

the election was boycotted, and the junta, or military power "claimed" 70% in just a few hours...

It seems you're almost trying to argue against yourself...

The 2000 of election of W was boycotted as well, but he is still our president.

Results have shown that they won 67% of the vote. It was boycotted by right-wing groups that were supported by America. The US, having seen which way the vote was going, indicated before the election that they would not recognize the result.

The idea that elections were rigged was one that was spread by the US. don't believe the revisionist history that you are given, research it yourself, don't be someone's chump.
