A new opinion poll in the U.S. presidential race indicates Democratic challenger John Kerry holds a 7 point lead over President Bush.

The Los Angeles Times newspaper sponsored the nationwide poll published Thursday.

It finds Mr. Kerry leads Mr. Bush 51 percent to 44 percent.

More than one-third of those surveyed said they did not know enough about Senator Kerry to decide whether he would be a better president than Mr. Bush.

And by a 2 - 1 margin people said Mr. Kerry is more likely to reverse his position on issues.

But nearly three-fifths of those questioned said the country was on the wrong track.

A majority of people also said they disapproved of Mr. Bush's handling of Iraq and the economy.

yes, the bush hater is back

Just to let you know that those polls are out of one hundred people. That makes them very inconsistant. One hundred people does reflect the majority. Also many newspaper and news shows tweak the answers so there papers will sell.

i.e. CNN says that 95 percent of Iraqi's think that the U.S. should leave Iraq know! That is B.S. at its finest!

Yes, God forbid someone actually change their opinion when all the evidence shows them that their current course is wrong. The important thing is sticking with a decision and wailing away that you're right no matter how incorrect or misguided it is.

OMG !!! Finally someone who sees this the same way that I do. I am no longer alone. I was starting to think that being stubborn to the point of stupidity was the main factor for being elected in the United States.

100% of the people polled in my room right now think that Bush should stay in office. The sample also thinks John Kerry is an aloof, french-looking flip-fopper.

At this point I think I would rather elect Boris the ball-spinning bear to the white house, than some more dick who endorses Christianity as a state religion (as a Jew, it's upsetting), and won't let my gay friend get married 'cause he's got a problem with that. IMHO he should have gotten a no-confidence vote a loooooong time ago. But our system not being as open as that of Canada or Great Britain - his party tends to dominate. So please, anything but him.

Considering Bush ran on a platform of a reducing the deficit, and has of course raised it to the highest level in history, it's depressing to know how absolutely idiotic people in my country are, to think that Kerry is more likely to reverse his positions. Even if he is open to changing his opinions, at least you know what they are before he's in office, opposed to Bush sticking to the same lie throughout his campaign and changing it after he won.

According to those poll results, it is the main factor :P But worry not, I'm with you on this issue, and hopefully idiocy will be overcome by reason, and the White House literacy rate will increase by one in November.

Regardless of Berklyvania sad attempt at humor, this is an LA times Poll, who can honestly say that the poll is not seriously skewed?

Huh? Are they increasing staffing levels? Or is someone in the current White House illiterate? If so, who?

Actually, as I'm sitting here at my desk in my office typing this, people are coming in and out because they want to see my fish or play with my desk toys or ask me to fire someone, so yeah, I guess it is kind of a party.

Oh, c'mon Berkylvania, didn't you know that if you were in office for around 30 years, you should stay the course of 1977..lol Because politics isn't static.. But the Republican attack machine would have you think so. I'll take a waffle in the morning any day then the same old eggs every day. Ya know ;) (I also think they're scrambled eggs, but I have neither been able to confirm nor deny that.. they lie too much to know for sure)
