Some of you may remember that I work with StarTrekSiteAlliance as an Administrator on around four sites run by the group.
And I know most of you have wondered what would happen if the Moderators got into an arguement that turned in an ifamous Mod Fight!!!

So here's the story of my day...

It began with my standard round of the sites...

-Delete porn links
-Block new disguise of dirty word
-Slap a temporary ban on repeat spammer
-Read 50 telegrams asking me why the server's down
-Send out 1 millionth email reminding people I can't do anything about it because it's a temporary side effect of the server change
-Delete a player for posting a grossly offencive comment to another player

That when it began...

-Another Mod who will go nameless *cough* Lod *cough* decided it did not warrant a ban and reactivated the player's account.
-I signed back in to discover the player had his account back and deleted it again, this time with an IP Ban.
-Recivied an abusive email from said Mod, claiming I would pay... or some such.
-I then responded by lodging a formal complaint on the Moderator Board
-He deleted the thread
-I demoted him from Admin to Forum Mod
-He had another mod restore his account and canceled my Admin powers
-I used my second account to reactivate my other accounts Admin powers
-I then banned the other Mod

Then it got worse....

-The Lod that will go nameless blocked my primary account
-I then IP Banned him from the site
-He somehow came back and began deleting my threads
-I deleted his treads
-He deleted my banner off the front page
-I deleted his entire site (one of the affiliates)

It went on for about three hours...

-With most of the site in tatters
-And most of the forum deleted
-The Boss (oddly enough the accoutn name) demoted us both down to Moderators and issued us with warnings

It's all in a day's work for an evil Mod like me :wink:

Wow, I wasn't aware of such petty squabbles between mods.

I thought mods were supposed to be responsible and mature and all that.

there should be a site where everyone is a mod and everyone is aloud to mess around like that. sounds fun.

there's got to be a better way to do it than to go to war everytime you disagree. And you guys prolly shouldn't have the power to take away admin positions b/c it sounds like you abuse them

that would be insane... but depending how civilized the people are, it could be really fun or really annoying.
