The Soviets invaded Afghanistan in 1979. The Muhajadeen (whom you refer to as al-Qaeda) were first trained and funded by president Carter. Reagan just continued the policy.

The death squads were, sadly, an unfortunate remnant of the Cold War. Most can agree that it'd be even worse for everyone if the Soviet Union and Cuba had a strong foothold in Latin America. However, we'd naturally assumed, rather naively, that the anti communist forces in Latin America had the same moral standards as the US. Obviously, we were dead wrong. It was very unfortunate, but it was an event that, short of a massive invasion and a PR uproar at the US, couldn't be stopped. At the very least, however, communism never got far in Latin America. Today, Latin America is far more representative, and they still don't want Sandinista style governments.

I see that the ignorant sickos are out of their cages once AGAIN regurgitating LIES, in hopes that if they spread their noise loud and long enough, it will become the truth.

President Reagan's economic policy and leadership, saved the U.S.A. and brought the Cold War to an end. Look up the facts...

Is it our fault that their readers took the things in them and applied them to real life men women and children? Certainly not! We were just so naive, that's all...

And really, the way our funding of the terrorist Contras ultimately destabilized the Sandanista government in Nicaragua to the point where they finally lost a popular election... that was a true victory for democracy!
