ROUND 3 BRACKET 2 (Legends of Metal)

Okay here's how the voting goes. Since the polls can easily be manipulated this is the voting system we will use:

If you post your vote with a nation of 75 posts or more, that vote counts as two. The poll votes count as 1. Technically your vote can be counted as three votes, if you vote both in the poll and post what you voted for.

However, even with this system in place this entire poll can be easily manipulated. So I ask you, please don't... Let's not cheat shall we?

Also, I'd like arguements from both sides on why that particular band (in this case, Children of Bodom or Pantera) should win. So please feel free to post long paragraphs regarding the merits of either Children of Bodom or Pantera.

I voted for Pantera, since I've never heard of the other one. God, I'm getting too old! :?

After much soul searching, I decided that I had to vote Children of Bodom...

Pantera... was ecclipsed by other bands in the eighties and don't really stand out apart from the crowd.

Children of Bodom... they stood out blatantly in the nineties and the zeros (at least I think so), due to a lack of good metal bands originating from the ninties and the zeros.

As far as musicianship goes... they seem to be evenly matched to me.

Children of Bodom, but Emperor is better than either of them.

Pantera.

I have seen them in concert and they are a Dallas band (hometown) at which I see them at the occasional local show.

Also, I don't know who the other band is. :oops:

Children of Bodom all the way. Pantera ain't bad at all, but come on Children of Bodom did a cover of Europe's "the Final Countdown", how can you beat that?

I'm not denying he can't play, it's just Children of Bodom are so fucking lightweight they're like being kicked by fluffy bunny slippers (hence the picture...).

Their keyboards are certainly lightweight, and they always have the drums mixed too low, therefore denying us the usually kick to the stomach effect of tradtional Death and Black Metal bands. But I still like their music over Dimebag and gang (with the exception of Cowboys from Hell).

I'd chalk that up to low budget. A small death metal band from Finland isn't going to have the money to buy time to mix a record perfectly. Whereas Pantera, the platinum selling American metal band has fat stacks of cash to build their own studio, and record and mix and generally take however long they want to finish the record.
