So it looks like at least one national leader doesn't know the early history of Soviet Russia. What on earth is he thinking, he is in charge of a country that already has severe food shortages (which incidently used to be a net food exporter, and was occasionaly dubbed 'the food basket of Africa'), so he effectively decides to collectivise it and introduce a government monopoly.

Oh this plan will work..ahuh..yep..alienate the thousands of white farmers who had helped make South Africa a breadbasket for all its citizens and elsewhere in Africa..and turn it into a future Somalia where the world will end up feeding them. And on top of insult to injury...the white owners aren't even allowed to sell off their equipment...they are just handed an eviction notice and voila..get off the property so one of mugabe's thugs can just move in without even have to worry bout anything...ya would have thought they would have learned a thing or two from the former situation in Rhodesia, now impoverished Zimbabwe.

He has already alienated a lot of white farmers, and many black ones to. And has completely disregard the fact that farming isn't really a natural instict. Especially considering that machinery/tools will need to be used on a wide scale.
