Music: A topic different from the rest of General

Aldaman

It is about time we had a topic about something non-political.
The rules are as follows.

1) Post the bands/songs that you listen to currently
2) Post Your location
3) Don't criticise other peoples music tastes (they are different people and have the right to listen to what they choose)
4) Please give reasons as to why you might like that particular music.

Depending on my mood--lately it's been a heavy dose of Taj Mahal, Allison Krauss, Chris Thomas King, Sade, Jason Mraz, and Dave Matthews.

And Gershwin and Copland while I'm writing.

Off the top of my head:

Metallica
AC/DC
Rush
Korn
Offspring
Bad Religion
Green Day
Zebrahead
Anti-flag
Rammstein
Nirvana
KMFDM
Rhapsody
Gamma Ray
No Use For a Name

I also listen to Techno, VG music, and Jazz. I can listen to almost anything, but do not prefer most rap, hip-hop, pop, or country.

Why:

I don't know for sure. Metal/Rock/Industrial appeal to me because I like the sound of electric guitars and the music they're usually used to produce, I suppose. I like the tempo and melodies that can be found in Techno, Jazz is soothing, and VG music's just damn catchy and blends all the aforementioned reasons.
