Halo 2 will be executed by freeman. Sure, the M.C can take elites, but can he take Freeman? Not a chance. Freemans intense knowledge of science will baffle the M.C. Doom 3 will be nice, but I've yet to see a cyberdemon, so, I'm waiting. And those striders, well, if you've seen the main cannon, then you know how badly they'll own you.

I haven't seen Tribes Vengence, but I've been playing Tribes 1 for the last 6 hours or so and it's awesome. That'd get my vote for best FPS ever, although Half Life 2 is unbelievable.
