Living in the Promised Land

Give us your tired and weak
and we will make them strong
bring us your foreign songs
and we will sing along
Leave us your broken dreams
we'll give them time to mend
there's still a lot of love
living in the Promiseland

Living in the Promiseland
Our dreams are made of steel
and the prayer of every man
is to know how freedom feels
there is a winding road
across the shifting sand
and room for everyone
living in the promiseland

So they came from the distant isles
nameless woman, faithless child
like a bad dream

Until there was no room at all
no place to run
and no place to fall

Give us your daily bread
we have no shoes to wear
no place to call our own
only this cross to bear
we are the mulititudes
lend us a helping hand
is there no love anymore
living in the promiseland

Living in the Promiseland
Our dreams are made of steel
and the prayer of every man
is to know how freedom feels
there is a winding road
across the shifting sand
and room for everyone
living in the promiseland

The All American Dream

I drink Kentucky Whiskey
I love California wine
my old car's from Detroit
and suits my taste just fine
my boots were made in Texas
and this song's from Tenessee
I'm proud of my country
and what its done for me

You're looking at a believer
in the All American Dream
from a small farm in Texas
whose singing on TV
there ain't a thing we can't do
nothing we can't be
as long as we're believers
in the All American Dream

Every single thing I own
is made in the USA
I don't buy those products
with names I can't say
we may be having hard times
but brother we're still friends
I'm glad I'm living in the land of opportunity

You're looking at a believer
in the All American Dream
from a small farm in Texas
whose singing on TV
there ain't a thing we can't do
nothing we can't be
as long as we're believers
in the All American Dream

If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.

Chorus
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say ...

Chorus
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

Amber Waves of Grain

If the Amber Waves of Grain should dissappear
and there were no wheat or barley anywhere
would we buy our bread and butter
from the Toyota Man?
would Idaho's spuds be stamped made in Japan
the farmers land won't get tended
if the farmer isn't here
the amber waves of grain may disappear

There's a railroad train
that's on its way to nowhere
never again to return again this way
will the future farmer board this train
to nowhere?
is there nothing we can do?
to help him stay
can we give a bit of that foreign aid
to the farmer over here
will the amber waves of grain disappear?

American Ethic
I work all day in a factory
Making parts for bombs I'll never see
I have to support a family
American ethic will set me free
I work in a forest cutting trees
I work in a lab creating disease
Dressed in blue I do what I please
American ethic will will set be free
Don't care for homeless lazy slobs
Get off your ass and get a job
A shining example, look at me
American ethic will set me free
I don't care about suffering in foreign lands
I've got a clear conscience, no blood on my hands
I don't care about pollution or poverty
American ethic will set me free
Get up in the morning, get to bed at night
I don't know my wife, so we don't fight
I've got some kids just like me
American ethic will set them free
I've lived my life without any thought
Except for my job and what I've bought
Seems like someone has lied to me
Now I need death to set me free
I don't care about suffering in foreign lands
I've got a clear conscience, no blood on my hands
I don't care about pollution or poverty
American ethic will set me free

America Is

America is
a sharecropper's son
who plays a guitar
and grows up to be a rock and roll star
yes even a sharecropper"s son can go far
in America

America is
an immigrant's daughter
with something to say
who grows up to be
a writer one day
an immigrant's daughter
can turn out ok
in America

In America
you can build a bigger bridge
you can make a better car
erect a building almost tall enough to touch the stars
anything you can dream
you can do
its up to you

America is
the cop on the beat
who walks all alone
and offers his life to safeguard your own
like so many heroes unsung and untold
in America

America is
the telephone man
on top of a pole
rooted deep down in a hole

And each one
in search of his own private goal
in America

In America
you can build a stronger dam
you can make
a faster plane
you can water
a barren desert that is crying out for rain
anything you can dream of
you can do
its up to you

America is
the light in the harbor
that immigrants see
that tells them the've reached the land of the free
and that is the way
it always will be
in America

Song of the Patriot

I'm a flag waving
patriotic nephew
of my uncle sam
a rough riding
fightin yankee man
I love mom
and apple pie
and all the freedoms
that we all enjoy
across this beautiful land

I work hard
and I fight hard
for the old
red white and blue
and I'll fight
a whole lot harder
if it comes to where I have to

I'm a flag waving
patriotic nephew of my uncle sam
a rough riding fightin yankee man

And when I see old glory waving
I think of all the brave men
for what is right and wrong
and when I see old glory burning
my blood begins to churning
and I can do some fightin of my own

I don't believe in violence
I'm a God fearing man
but I'll stand up for my country
just as long as I can stand

cause
I'm a flag waving patriotic nephew of my uncle sam
a rough ridin fightin yankee man

Im a flag waving patriotic nephew of my uncle sam
a rough ridin fightin yankee man
and I enjoy the liberty
of being what I want a be
and acheiving any goal that I can

I was taught to turn the other cheek
but Teddy used to say
Walk soft and pack a big stick
but never walk away

I'm a flag waving patriotic nephew of my uncle sam
a flag wavin fightin yankee man

And when I see old glory waving
I think of all the brave men
who fought and died for what is right and wrong
and when I see old glory burning
my blood begins a churning
and I can do some fighting of my own

cause I love all my brothers
and we're proud of our birth

We've got the greatest country
here on God's great earth

and
I'm a flag waving patriotic nephew
of my uncle sam
a rough ridin fightin yankee man
