A question about using XML

Okay, thanks for reading. I have some experience programming in the C family, so I am not completely in the dark. I just was wondering how to use the NationStates XML feed to keep my country's website current. As in, what scripts, and how to apply it. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if need be, I could move my website off of Freewebs.

The XML feed: http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/nationdata.cgi

My nation's website: http://www.freewebs.com/lindim

Thanks again!

I'm not an expert on coding either, but freewebz definitely won't support making a database from that.

I'd suggest asking in the Tech forum and see if anyone who knows more than me can answer you. There've been some threads on this in the past, but without the search function, it'll be a heck of a job to find them.

Edit: a few links I dug up, but nothin comprehensive

From what I understand you need to use a perl script to insert the data into the website. I know nothing of perl, so don't ask me. I would also like to know, I am going to make my own nation's website, so yeah.

Actually you use PHP

You can use either I presume. Once it gets ASP (I bet I can find some obscure ASP script) my host will finally allow me to use it. I've tried all other languages, and ASP seems to be the only one that works.
